As I said, look for the Aeros instead. They get all the features... I would rather get an older Aero than a newer anything else. The Aeros also tend to be much more reliable due to being specced for fully synthetic oil from the get-go.

That model 9-3 (03 on) is the first completely GM Saab. The 03's were plagued with issues, but they fixed them for 04+.

I would still personally go with a 9-5 Aero... 02-05. The block in them is much better, if you decide to go for more power.

I think Tom sold me...Like an 04-05 Sabb 9-3 Aero looks like a great car for me.

It has some power to, 5 seater, smaller, probably a fun drive, and I love the looks of the aero. Plus that certified 6yr/100k warranty is the seller for me.

Those new 9-3's are like go-karts. Warranty is always nice on newer cars. If you need any help getting stuff fixed for cheap once your warranty runs out, or for things out of warranty, I'm your guy. I've fixed everything on my 9-5 by myself... saved a huge load of cash.

eeuroparts.com and genuinesaab.com will be your best friends.

The only thing I ask of you is to keep up on your oil changes. There is nothing more important to _ANY_ car than frequent synthetic oil changes... you'd be amazed how much money you will save by being vigilant about this. I would say do it every 5000 miles at most, or double the factory oil change rate. Unlike the early 9-5's, the 9-3's aren't as prone to sludging if abused with infrequent or poor quality oil changes, but why risk it at all?

Once you get the car, you can get it boosted up nicely to 285hp + 354ft.lbs with no hardware mods. Just plug in and go. You can revert to stock software if you need to get warranty work done as well ;)

With the all new 2008 9-3s coming out this year, the price on the older models is going to drop even more. Typically luxury brands depreciate like mad because everyone rich wants to have the latest model.

Keep an eye out for good deals on the 9-5 Aeros as well. Then you can be cool like me! Seriously, they are about the size of a 5 series, but weigh less than a 3 series... absolutely ruthless highway cruisers with retarded amounts of torque. Then again, the 9-3 puts out 50lbs more torque after tuning, and is even smaller, so you've got the potential for a real ass kicker there.

It will probably be about 9mnths to 12mnths before I get one. That way liek you said the 08s will be out, cost less, and in about 12 mnths with working and selling off some audio gear, I should be able to pay out right for the car  .
