I'm looking at bringing in some wheels from the UK and shipping via UPS or FEDEX is a joke. Literally FEDEX quoted me $450 to ship a set of four 17 inch wheels. I know its going to be expensive no matter what but I also know there are other cheaper (slower on the boat) ways of getting things around.

What companies do you Eurpoean guys use to ship larger parts internationally at a reasonable cost ?

Just use the basic national shipping company, e.g. Canada Post, USPS, or Royal Mail. That is always the cheapest, and you can normally pick between boat or air.

Other than that DHL is great for international shipping reliability and speed, but they cost a lot.
