Yea, how sweet it is! They have Jbl, Memphis, Kicker, T3 Audio, Jvc Arsenal, of course soundstorm and alphasonic and stuff along that line(cough) and Orion HCCA !!! They have a 15 inch that is flippin' huge! I love it. Can't wait to start. They have a couple of installs already. One guy has a scion like mine and it has gotten second in Meca ni sound quality with Jbl Gto series speakers and amps. It is actually a very well balanced system. I will be joining with some Phoenix Gold Rsd subs and amps. Maybe even bringing some interest in alabama for phoenix gold.

Don't push too hard. If they are looking to buy a deck, sugest new speakers to go with it. Don't try to push them into 5x the money they were originally planning to spend cus it'll scare them off totally. I'm with Twist, listen to EVERYTHING yer customer has to say before you start selling. It'll give you a better base for which "upsells" you can push. Example-

Cust- I'm looking for a deck that I can hook my ipod to.
You- What price range are you looking to stay in?
Cust- I'd like to spend around $200.

Well, at that price point you can sell them TONS of different decks cus everything these days does that and you might be able to also get them into new speaks all-around and still not break the bank. Make 'em think that they aren't gonna find a better deal but don't go car-salesman wild if ya know what I mean.

I sell high-end materials to people that think they can't afford it all day. It's all about how the information is laid out for them. OPTIONS are really what customers look for whether they can afford it or not.
Those tender little burgers with them little, itty-bitty grilled onions that just explode in ya mouth like flavor crystals every time you bite into one.. just makes me want to burn this muthafuka down.... Come on, Pookie, let's burn this muthafuka down!!!

That is great to know. I had worked at Circuit City Roadshop for about a year and well you sell what they tell you or else the job might become available for another person. I am really pumped to show people what a great stereo is really about. Not all that bangbangmothalicka stuff.
True music. The way it was meant to be represented. The options is where its at too. Thanks for all the input everyone. Wish me luck in the morning.

First day story that is crazy. I went in and we began opening the store as usual. A man came in and wanted some stuff installed. It was 4 eclipse titanium 12's (not pro) and so we okayd it. He settled his ticket and left to go get a buddy of his to get his equipment installed. Well, a guy came in with the story of how he and about 4 other people had gotten their stereos stolen the night before. He wanted to get new equipment that day. We took him around and showed him some products and we actually were finishing his reciept when we asked him what type of equipment was stolen. He of course told us eclipse titanium 12's and a specific autotek amp and some memphis wiring. Hmmmm, we told him that he needed to identify some stuff for us. We took him downstairs and well, his equipment was being installed in that other car. The cops were called and when the people arrived to pick up the car we busted them. We got 2 vehicles that were used in the robbery and 2 of the robbers. 3 out of 4 peoples stereos that had reported theft that night and Wow- makes you feel like a audio hero. Overall, still excited to work there.

That'll bring people back to you. To some it would be a great deal of comfort to know that a store would, not really lose money, but not make money installing stolen goods and returning them to the original. They chose morality over money and that's a good thing in todays world.

Sales wise, DO NOT talk "above" your head. In other words don't speak of what you don't know.

If you have to correct a person, common sense, but be polite.

And always KNOW YOUR STUFF. Know each brand inside and out.

Congrats on the job. Our local shops here are BB, CC and a better higher end shop that hasn't been getting the business for more employees then what it has on staff.

Yea, I appreciate the love. I have been there about 3 weeks now and it is an incredible experience. The people I work with are great and very fun and know way more than me about this business. I am pumped to learn all I can. I am located on Opelika Road up from "Jimmys" it is the one that has the red sign and the JBL PT Cruiser. The Car Stereo Shop- If anyones in town for a football game this fall you should stop by or if you live in AU just stop by one day. We are running a ticket raffle for Doobie Bros. and Chicago tickets. I'd be happy to meet some fellow Phoenix Phreaks.
