Some people choose to be notified by email if a thread is posted into, or if they get a private message. So, when you send a private message, it will go to the mail server to send them a notification. If the mail server is having a shit fit, then it will spit out this error. This does not mean there is a forum problem, just that the mail cannot be sent. So, if you see this message after you post, it is safe to ignore it.Ran into problems sending Mail. This means the database server (which stores all the forum messages) is down. If this occurs, try back in 5 minutes or so. I do not control when the servers go up and down, but it happens sometimes. Our hosting is shared with many other websites, so problems can and do occur more frequently than if we were run on our own webserver. Unfortunately this is way more expensive than I can afford. I supplied some support tickets to my webhost. Here is a message I got on the support page:
They are aware of the mail server and frequent database outages, and are working hard on it. It seems like even if we had a dedicated server this problem would still affect us.
