this is one of those useful things I never really caught on to, or had a use for, until now. As a former avid listener of Adam Carolla's radio show, which was canceled as result of the talk radio station he was on changing to Top 40.. anyhow, he's started a daily podcast show that i'd like to have dropped onto my mp3 player each night.
First things first, I have an Iriver clix, and manage my mp3 collection with WMP11, and also use it to sync.
Whats the best route to make this happen?
I did a quick search and downloaded "doppler", which can grab the rss feed and download the mp3, but it seems to do a shoddy job of getting it into WMP11 and syncing, is there a better way?

Don't know a whole lot about automating sync with WMP11 but this article describes exactly what you're doing (Doppler & WMP) but throws in Auto Playlists to automate the sync:

Might help, might not.
As a side note, this has to be one reason why iPods are so damn popular. iTunes provides a fairly comprehensive end-to-end solution for the most commonly used sync and download tasks.

Yeah, I agree. I was speaking somewhat more generally though about iTunes/iPods wrapping up such functionality in a single package making them popular.stipud wrote:I think podcasts are popular because of iTunes, not vicey versey.fuzzysnuggleduck wrote:As a side note, this has to be one reason why iPods are so damn popular. iTunes provides a fairly comprehensive end-to-end solution for the most commonly used sync and download tasks.
