  I just got rear ended coming off of the freeway. Not too much damage to the FJ, his little Mitsubishi didn't fare as well. Pics are uploading now.

Take a look at the line for the hood. Plus my tow hook punctured the bumper, plus he was leaking something. Fucking jerk!!

3M heavy duty rubbing compound will take those marks right off

Careful... hitting your tow hook could cause frame damage. Make sure you get everything checked over by at least two reputable shops. And make sure his insurance takes care of everything. Having a police report will help out big time as well.

Yep, Dodge/Toyota is what they used to sell. I don't know if they are still around though. I just checked out the FJ pretty good, it looks fine. All the lines on the FJ are perfect, I really thought some of the plastic would shift more, but nothing. I'll still have it checked out by a few shops though.

I'm hoping to get enough money out of this to buy a real bumper. Take a look:

Those bumpers are sweet... I never could get myself to pony up the dough for one as I can count the number of times I've been in the real dirt on one hand.

That's better than probably 98% of SUV owners...

I love this one because 1) It's made locally and I know the owner, and 2) it gets the weight of the bigger tire off of the back door and on to the bumper.

Getting the lift was a good thing in this case. He almost slid right under the entire FJ. If I would have been higher that tow hook would have done some real damage to his hood.

Final verdict, $498.00 in my pocket. Not enough for the bumper I want, but it's a good start. All of that for a few scratches.
