one HELL of a Month

Post by GX3 »

Just need to vent a bit. As some know i had to have surgery on my knee last Tuesday. Yes it hurts but all went well with that. The next day my dad was rushed to the hospital. Things were not looking good at all. The doctors couldn't determine what the problem was and the C word was droped and they said whatever is causing it is aggressive. My mom is freaking out not only because of my dads condition but he was downsized just over 2months ago! So he lost his medical insurance along with the job. He bought into some kind of insurance but it doesn't cover shit! Things started looking up last night for him. Turns out there is a blockage in his bile duct and the Dr was able to get things to start draining but couldnt get the mass out yet. He has to go back in to try again in a few days. They took cell samples and it came back negative for cancer. Thank God. So things are looking up but he still has one hell of an infection and his color is still very yellow. So its a waiting game to see how he responds. To add to my hell. Last night around midnight a friend from my home town tells me that one of our good friends is back in the hospital. He wont open his eyes and is not responding. His family was told he most likely will not make it though the night. He has been sick for around 5 years now but was doing good up till a few months ago. Its not right he is only 30 years old and is the kind of person that would help any one any time. I was going to go to dinner with him all of our friends and his family last weekend but i couldn't make it to Chicago. Now i wait to hear any news about his condition. It has jsut been one thing after another this week!

Man it really sucks that you guys lose your health insurance with your job. Especially with so many people getting laid off by "the economy", i'd imagine that is leaving hundreds of thousands of people up shit creek without a paddle.

I hope everything works out for you, your dad and your friend.

Ouches...I am sorry for your friend. Remember tho. This is not your fault. I understand you might feel like you are a jerk for not visiting your friend a week or so ago. Just realize that time fly's. And you thought your friend would be there. Sometimes people come and go. But realize that you could not forsee this comming. I am sure it was unexpected. You or anyone else could not predict this time or day would come. So I just want you to know to not blame yourself. I know you might feel like kicking yourself for not seeing him earlier. Again you can't judge yourself for that. You could not know any better.
Anyway try your best to do what you can with what you have now. Remember your friends and family still count/rely on you. Don't give up. Get better yourself...and be there for your Dad at this time.

And my friend...TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF so you can take care of your dad.

Well what can I say .............................. The doctors that told us my dad was clear of cancer came back in to day and said. Well we were a bunch of dumb asses and decided to ether run another test or actually talk to each other (dont know what one it is yet) but guess what. Mr. Labriola it turns out you do have cancer... WHAT THE FUCK ..... just a day and half ago he was fine still had shit wrong but we were told by the same FUCKING Doctors NO cancer .... My mom is a wreck right now her and my dad were so ecstatic on monday from the news that the test came back clear. It would have been better if they just said we dont know yet. My dad and mom was comming to terms sunday night that it might be cancer and then the "GOOD NEWS" on monday of not having it .... to this today how can they do that to people????.... and its not like they took another sample to test or any thing. I dont get it ......Well i have to go finish packing for Toms funeral :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

I have been dealing with the medical community and how they "practice" their medicine. I have come to the conclusion that the dr's of today do not give a crap about anything less then their paycheck. They are not in it to help people anymore.

my motto when dealing with them is to keep my expectations low so that I am not disappointed...........

Have you considered seeing a naturopathic doctor? I was skeptical at first, but they are not as crazy as they sound. Certainly the ones I have visited seem to care MUCH more about their clients. You may have to make large adjustments in your life, but I have seen some amazing results.

My girlfriend's mom and stepdad met in cancer treatment. They both healed themselves naturally -- no chemo, just acupuncture, diet, etc. After getting through that together, they just got married a couple weeks ago. Quite amazing.

My prayers are there for you and your family. I lost my father and grandfather within 3 years of each other. It felt as if the world was moving on without me, just let it go. Time will stop, but with your family's love and Gods love too you will catch back up. That's what it felt like for me, and it took a while to heal, but slowly life will improve. God's plan isn't always easy, but if you believe he will carry you through the rough times. I know this is just a bunch of words, a I just pray its helps. Take care and god bless...

Thanks for all the kind words and thoughts guys. This has been one of the hardest times of my life. Things will be ruff for bit as my family adjusts to life with out my father around but we will get though it. If i disappear from time to time don't worry I will be back. I have to help my Mom with a lot of things my dad never got the chance to finish (mostly financial things) so I have a lot of work a head of me.

As a side note If I have a deal in the works with you and haven't PMed you as of tonight I apologize and please send me a PM. With all that has happened the past 2 weeks I have lost track of a few things.

Sad to say my best friends mother past away in Florida almost from the same thing as my dad did. The services were today in Chicago but I did not have the funds to take the trip. This summer will go down as the worst one ever for me.

But today brought a positive turn.............. We found a house today :D :D It has an inlaw suite and plenty of room for all of us. As well as a 30x30 work shop/garage on the second lot that part of the parcel. Wish me luck
