That thing is pretty bad ass...the engineering behind it is just mind boggling....what was the motor noise...sounded like an nitro rc motor...and the size of the gyros to stablize the balance to height ratio...yikes....fema can use it to bury their heads in the sand next time the chaos and looting break out in a disaster zone

It's called the Big Dog.

It's made by Boston Dynamics. They make several other robots as well. Good stuff.

The sound is the (gas?) motor. When it's in the lab, they have power lines hooked up via a mobile overhead arm and thus it doesn't make that whine.
