ahhh still in basement at house, waiting for 220 to get wired to back oven room... you see that room w/ the two ply's over the windows... just a lil history, it was once an auto body shop and that was their spray room... so I will get another couple big exhaust fans and put in there and make that the baking room.

Has a total of 3 rooms in addition to the spray room you see (oven room now), one will be the cleaning and prepping (off to left of oven room) small front room for office/desk/puter/files/etc... , smaller room for electronics (changing caps, fixing stuff, etc), and the large large area will be for car stereo installing, and silk screen set up.

I need to get more track for bay door though, it stops at ceiling and cant open door completely... BUT great location, right downtown, needs a lil clean up and work, but defi has the potential...

Got a fridge last night, so it will get gutted, and made into a 4.5' H, 24" deep x 24" wide oven when i am done with it. That shoudl be good start. Then i will look into making oven from scratch (providing i am getting work and making money), but with the space there available, i could conceivably get like a 10 x 6 x 6' oven in there; or better!

working on it, working on it! prolly gonna be a month (maybe less) before it is all said and done and shop doors are officially open, but these things take time... I have lots of work to do for folks that want amps and stuff, and that will have to come first... I just wanted to secure the space, as it was a good looking space, and reasonably priced!

Vermont is pretty laxed... I will file/submit as an LLC, which is merely filling out the form, and sending 75.00. I actually have/own three other business (as far as Vermont is concerned), 2 of which are Sole Pro's, and one is an LLC. Insurance I have not looked into yet. I have insurance for one of the other business (green Mtn Gift Books), but that was simply a generic business insurance that the state required for making deliveries in state of new Hampshire. SO I figure next week or so I will learn... prolly should have learned or found out by now, but nothing else I need the storage and place to do my hobby stuff anyways, and it is cheaper than what I am paying now for storage. so until i get wiring set up, bigger ovens up and running, and all that crap... like being able to get the door open at least, I prolly will focus on getting building stable/viable for business and customers...

HEY GUYS I need suggestions for company name.

Here's a few I came up with

1) Sounds and Powder (Sounds -N- Powder)
2) Brattleboro Sounds & Powder
3) Green Mtn. Sounds & Powder

we are in Brattleboro, Vermont, and it is called the Green Mtn State.

Maybe a little too common/traditional thinking... but what say you guys!

I need to incorporate the car stereo installs and powder coating some how.

what say you guys!?

You need a catchy name... Interracial Midget Gangbang car audio and powdercoating? :hmm:

In all honesty though, I think running powdercoating and car audio under the same banner is going to be tricky. Why not just two businesses? Too much registration cost?

somewhat yes, gets a lil complicated, it's much cheaper to make up one stationary, one banner, one this one that, versus two of everything
know what I mean... hard enough getting one off the ground (financially, effort, etc speaking) never mind trying to get two of everything made up

if you are really going to start doing installs then I think it will completely change your insurance needs. With a PC company the worst you would have to worry about is an accident with an oven which if it is set up right should be minor. Now an install bay WILL have occasional damage claims on it even if you have GREAT installers working. This taken into account how hard alot of the modern cars are to install just a radio into and I don't know if I would take that step.

point well taken and think there might be some merit to that...
the business model i have in mind for the car stereo gear is/was that I would/could do the install work... nothing relating to selling the gear or selling retail... just more like you bring the gear you want put in, I can somewhat point one in the direction of what I think would be nice, and if they wanted a custom sub enclosure, or amp rack, or whatever I would/could do that in the shop. maybe have them sign waiver for the work... i dunno, but PC'ing is really where I wanna be.

I do think that I will have to look at the installation aspect(s) a little more closer though... but right now I am pressed to get PC'ing up and running... shit right now I cant even get bay door open. and/but something to think about.
