It sucks I'm only hired as a temp right now, but when/if I can get full time it'll pay better then my last job by about $8 more per/hr.
I start tomorrow at Subaru Isuzu Automotive (SIA), making the Subaru Outback. I lucked out and got days for now so that'll be good for myself and my kids. They get on my nerves at times, what kids don't, and I'd like time away from their "Big" issues, but only seeing them on weekends would suck. And for the fact that I'm in school and can set up for night class' next semester.
Got the car switched over (plates, insurance) for my wife that her friend gave us so that too was good.
The down side of this weekend was our waterbed decided that it's life cycle was up and a 9" tear appeared so we're now sleeping on an air mattress, pretty comfy really, and the water clean up was a bitch!

Thanks guys.
Denim, you have no idea. My former employer, Wabash National Corp, couldn't be a 1/4 as good even if they tried. SIA goes out of their way for the employee and treat their temps just like their FT's but w/less pay. Actually excited about it. After day 1 I still don't know what exactly I'll be doing.

Now there's a company that is doing well. Congrats! I was piiisssed at Wabash but I think it may work out to be the best in the long run if you can get on full time!
How is the commute?

2 miles further then my last job. So about 3 mins longer, total about 17 mins from home.

Tom,
I'm rooting for me too. I just made a wager w/one of the guys that's in my hiring class. Whoever gets into management or in the office first has to buy the other the opposite gaming console. If he beats me, I have to buy him a PS3, if I beat him, he has to buy me a 360. He has a 360 and I have a PS3. That way we could play each other. A friendly wager, but an expensive one.
Fuzz,
Yea, but the tips were great, not to mention the fringe benefits that your mom was giving me there.

Damn, you lucky bitch!
I have been off for 9+ months now and the only way I am finding a job is if I kill someone and steal their job...
Fixing amps has picked up though. It went from a hobby to a job a few weeks back. I think I repaired around 7 of them last week.
I am building a load test setup, hopefully with 200A of supply. I should be able to power test amps to the extreme, and this may help with more amp reviews in the future.

Fuzz,
Somethings got to keep me "up" cause yer mom wasn't!
Eric,
When I get some extra $$, let it be known- after xmas, I have an amp I'll want repaired, A PPI ?2300? and maybe that M50 board you gave me along w/the bad one.
Denim,
Part time positions open only and there's a small (2-3 weeks) wait on that.

I'm in complete farking pain! My left hand is as sore as I've ever felt it. It's swollen and my back is killing me. I knew this job was tough, but damn not this bad. For my 1st full week we're working 55 hrs. Hell of a way to break someone in, or just plain ol break em period.
Time for bed as I dead as dead can be.

I feel your pain. I missed work on Monday and I am still going to get 55 hours this week! I don't have to use any sick time and I'm still going to have OT. At least I'm not doing physical labor like you. That just might kill an old boy like me!!
