What's up everyone, I'm new to the forum and just wanted to say hey. Hopefully I posted this in the right section!

Jesus H. Christ

Microsoft is so desperate to improve its search engine's SEO rating that it's paying shills like you to sign up on forums, just to spam their goddamn search engine link?

I just googled your signature, and voila... (copy/paste the link)

Code: Select all

http://www.google.ca/search?q="Bing+-+It's+better+than+Google"
Tons of "Hey I'm new" threads on other forums with the exact same signature and profile link. You are stooping to the levels of nigerian spammers! Is this how low MS has to stoop nowadays?? :|

The sad thing is, my job is currently asking me to pick a search engine to implement in our mobile WAP portals. Bing looked very promising, and I was very close to pushing it as our recommendation... until you did this.

I decided to post my distaste on the Bing forums:
http://www.bing.com/community/forums/p/ ... px#9560524

Since it will probably be deleted:
I have noticed that recently Bing has started a forum spamming campaign, in order to improve their SEO rating... It started today with a post on my forum: http://phoenixphorum.com/hey-i-m-new-vt12142.html

I googled the user's signature: http://www.google.ca/search?q="Bing+-+I ... han+Google"

Lo and behold, numerous other forums have been spammed with the exact same thread title, signature, and link in the profile. Does Bing really have to stoop to the level of Nigerian porno spammers to get the word out? This is extremely unprofessional. If this is being done by a hired marketing company, Bing should definitely reconsider who they have chosen to represent them.

It's quite sad, because my job has asked me to evaluate which search engine offers the best SOAP interface for our mobile phone carrier WAP portal pages. Bing was looking like a sure winner, but now after seeing what kind of tactics they are pulling, I am not so sure I want to support them.

Oh lordy
interesting idea, but it is not originating from us. Probably someone looking for exactly this type of result.
Yes, Google is paying people to spam for MS, just to make MS look bad? Makes sense......... NAT.

We've had some issues in the past so Tom keeps pretty close eye on new members.

This is a family oriented phorum less the porn, frequent use of profanity and overall boarderline behavior.

Nah, I don't think any spammer is dumb enough to use their own email address.

Check out all the spam reports from their IP address:

Lots of different email addresses, too.
