A House blew up in my subdivision yesterday..

Yea, apparently they had been having problems with there fire place. It was supposed to have been fixed, but I guess it didnt happen.. There son was found later in the day under the debris.

my first thought was meth lab until I saw the pics. Meth labs around here anyway tend to just explode into fire and not scatter debris like that.
Sucks about the son, was probably just enjoying the house to himself with his pipe.......

The houses actually arent as close as you think. The picture makes them seem closer actually. That explosion was just deadly, I was looking at it more yesterday, and the only thing left is the foundation for the most part, and very little of that.. Pieces of the house could be seen from more than a football field away...

Back in 95', I was in a house the had a propane tank explode in the basement.
Long story short, we were getting ready for a camping trip and put the tanks inside so they wouldn't go "missing"..... My friend stepped over a tank and tipped it over breaking the nozzel off and the gas started spewing out........He said RUN and we booked it up the stairs.... I grabbed his little brother and he went to the 3rd floor to get mom and dad.... I got to the front door and just as I closed it BOOM!!!!!!!! Blew the door frame and all off the house and tossed me 20 feet into the street.........

Family on my grandfathers side weren't so lucky. 1 dead and the other 2 have scars all over their bodies.
They came home and could smell something funny (gas) and just as one of them said do not turn on anything, BOOM! Someone had flipped on the light switch igniting the fume.

the son was found dead under rubble. The dad had 9 broken ribs, and other stuff. The wife had sum serious broken bones aswell. The daughter almost stayed at the house that night, but need up staying with a friend I heard.
