What do you think of the new 3D tvs

Post by kg1961 »

i want to say i thought wearing glass to see a bluray would not be fun
but after spending 20min in futureshop i almost left with one
they are about 4k cnd with glass for a 55`
THEY ARE A LITTle TO NEW FOR ME SO IM GOING TO WAIT ABOUT A YEAR ALSO PS3 IS GOING TO HAVE A FREE UPDATE SO I WOULD NOT HAVE TO BUY A 3D BLURAY ^PLAYER
shit sorry for the caps.
I could not beleive how much teh picture seened to come out of the tv its still hd so it looks great
my wife tried it also but she doesnt think it cool. she said she has never been able to see 3d items... better for me than i dont need 2 glasses ..just kidding i will get 2 or 3 when i do.

I havent seen them in person yet, but arent the glasses like $200   I dont think the price for the tv is all that bad considering the prices of the plasmas and lcds where waaaaaaaaaaay more expensive when they first popped onto the scene.

I've seen them first-hand and they fukin ROCK!!!!!!!!
I'm gonna get one as soon as I can because I pay cost through my wifes work. It's brings the term home theater to a whole new level. But yeah the glasses are kinda spendy and you have to have the tv hooked to a PC that does it's thing..... Other than that......74" Mitsu is in my future.
Those tender little burgers with them little, itty-bitty grilled onions that just explode in ya mouth like flavor crystals every time you bite into one.. just makes me want to burn this muthafuka down.... Come on, Pookie, let's burn this muthafuka down!!!

Apparently I dont know what I was looking at then...I played with the Sony, and was not that impressed. Not only was it slightly blurry, it also had a slight flicker to it. I think the technology is just not there yet. Also, I was a little turned off by the fact that the 3d was not a smoth transition from front to back. I saw it more as multiple flat panes on different 2d axis. Ill wait for the technology to come around slightly better....and the glasses not to be 150+ each

im not a sony fan for years i will buy a samsung i didn't see anything wrong delay ect so i don't know if it better now they are producing them. as for the glasses im not worried about price
i worked for a b sound in 1999 when plazma tv were 15-20k
4 k gets everything tv 2 glasses and 3d dvd blu ray player for me its only 1500 more than a nice lcd or led tv that 55"

i think the 1500 is a very little amount to upgrade
i also have a friend that works for futureshop so i will pay less just don't know hove much less

honestly it is the first generation of the technology, while it is neat and hard to wait I think it is for the best. The picture quality will go up and there will be more titles available, as well as being cheaper if you wait a year or two.

They make them right now but 20k for them way to rich for my blood
I agree to wait till the 2 or 3rd gen are out
this is why i will wait 12 month to get one
The glasses are not shitty like the movie
they don't both me at all
If they would make a 100" for the basement i would be poor and set for life..lol
I wish but this will be for the main level. Im waiting as my friend said they will get a special purchase of these for staff in the up cooming months if there is a 20-30% off deal i might have to do it quicker
but i have to save my pennies right now for the kid

Even at $4k I'll wait. Soon after I got my TV out came the 120 Hz and higher TVs. I too have a PS3 so I'll just do their update for that and buy just a TV later on. I waited 3 yrs to get an HDTV, I can wait another 3 yrs to get a 3D HDTV.

I think and was waiting for someone to pick out that all 3d tvs are the bench mark for high end units. If on 2d or 3d watching the best of the best of led tv to date! Read the spec and reviews
So when you look at the top 2d led tvs they are only about 1k less than the 3d
I watched and read allot this weekend about the samsung 7000,8000,and the new 9000 (when they come out) and Im sure i will be getting a 8000
its the right price great units love the setting use less energy than 2009 unit by 40% selects it own lighting setting ect. yes I know the glasses but i will get a pair for me and anyone that wants to come over. when sony updates the ps3 im set!!! by then i will own all the 3d movies as i already do now..Just kidding its only one movie monster vs aliens and yes i own it.
so now all i have to do is sell some shit and start saving. my wife calls it bugeting but i call it how the hell can i pull that out of my ass...lol

Seeing as I just bought a 46" LCD approx 2 years ago its probably 10 years before I will be even thinking of another tv purchase Unless I can afford to relegate the 46" to my bedroom. Although I am saving pennies (which will take forever due to health) for a laptop and am wondering if this technology is going to available on laptops anytime soon.
Check my buyer/seller ratings http://phoenixphorum.com/gridracer-vt4548.html

I have more PG stuff than one guy ever needs.

That'll be fine, you'll just have to give me a few days. Right now I'm taking a break from my Speach report I have to do. I freakin hate MLA/APA cited crap.

I'll try tomorrow.

I had an interesting conversation with my buddy that is my video expert. He is the VP of a reginal wholesale tv/sat biz and is always up to date with the latest/greatest and is normally working all the big shows. of course he gets deals on everything through accomodations through the manf and he just bought a tv this weekend, but he got a 73" HD and skipped the 3d. When I asked him why he didn't go 3d he said that the stuff that is out right now is just not perfected and he has been told that there is better on the way. He would not allaborate but just said that it would be at least a year before he switched....

Yeah I agree... the tech seems premature and hastily pushed out to satisfy the people who just saw the latest stream of 3D movies.

he likes them big...........

While the tv is great its in a room that is entirely too small. When you play games you have to move your head around to see all the corners of the tv. We watched the australian F1 race on it last night on speed hd and that was cool! Because of him I do not even bother keeping up with video technology, when I need a good opinion I call him and he can hook me up. He got me a 32" hd hitachi almost a year and a half ago for only $300. My other friend bought is 1 yr old mitsubishi 65" hd for $750 so I need to get inline for this 73 when he upgrades to 3d :hurr:

I don't see the sense in the 3D TV's as of yet. Working in the industry I highly doubt it will go from digital straight to 3D. HD is still being phased in, and I know you will only have a few programs in 3D. I would buy the Samsung 55" LED TV or an HD projector long before a 3D TV. The programming just isn't there yet for 3D. The networks haven't even stopped filming in standard yet. Just an opinion as usual.
