sorry guys didn't know it was 2 years old. crazy so it one unstable power cap IMO
i would hate to see what those amps would do in say 5-10 years
Seen a price of 50k for 2? I would sure hope they last longer than most amps now adays
Thats very funny about the lady losing her eye...

welcome to the world of mead. He has a large following online and his own forum I do believe.

I probably spent an hour just looking at 2 of his installs...

Meade is not the sharpest tool in the shed. He also has a huge ego problem. Criticize any aspect of one of his installs and he goes off the deep end. About eight years ago I questioned the SQ ability of his dual 18" install in a Civic and he bit my head off. All he knows is "bling" and "boom", he really has zero acoustics or electronics knowledge. Trail and error, coupled with brute force is his MO...

It probably sounds great. To build a bigger amp you boost transformer voltage and parallel more output parts. This amp just parallels LOTs of parts. Then they put it all in a custom chassis, with some fans, and a bunch of capacitors.
In all honesty, I have not studied this amp. I think it is a joke. They only made it for marketing purposes. From my best guess it is still an A/B amp, which means it is very inefficient. Then take someone like Steve Meade who uses it for bass and it is funnier still. But RF designed it for bass. RF's market share was slipping, so they built this beast and made it front stage while they slid under the radar their shift of production to Asia. They have been the biggest car audio company for years, all the while making products in the U.S.A. That is all gone now, they were the last to leave.
If you want 10,000W + amps, and some innovation, you need to look at the Kicker Warhorse. I am no SPL competitor, so I don't know just how great the Warhorse is, but I applaud Kicker for thinking outside the box. Pretty much every amp on the planet (for car audio) takes 12V DC, switches it through a transformer to boost it, and rectifies it back to a higher voltage DC, then uses that to feed the output transistors for a music signal.
From what I gather, the Kicker Warhorse takes 12V input DC, then switches it at high frequency PWM (like the output of a Class D amp), then feeds that to a transformer to boost it, and finally filters it a bit as an output. This is an amp with no separate power supply and output stage, it is just one initial amplification stage, with a bunch of DSP to keep it clean. This is really a pretty revolutionary design. In time I bet they shrink it down and make it full range. We may some day soon have 100W x 4 amps the size of a double thick CD case, which do full range, thanks to Kicker's pioneering efforts with the Warhorse.

i remember sitting in the fosgate van a long time ago it had to 18's and way to many mids and tweets. to me those 18's sounded like mush and the highs had to be the loudest distortion ive ever heard.of course after hearing phoenix gold everything else sounds like distortion.impressive if you trying to win the loudest distortion contest.
