Lets see how long this thread can go before it goes to hell..
Many people ever hear of Katie Melua? Search for her two albums Call off the Search and Piece by Piece. Both album titled songs are really good. She's also really good live if you ever get a chance....
Any others. (no rap does not count).

i think that new BT album counts as SQ "music", and it is certianly obscure....
i can upload it to errins FTP if he doesn't have it on there already.
i don't even know if its music any more. its more like "dynamic sounds"

Rammstein, Meshuggah and Tool have some of the best metal production I have heard... they sound amazing on a good stereo. Also, Cryptopsy's new album "Once was not" is a good way to give your setup a workout -- if your stereo can keep up to that, you can play anything. Same thing goes for Cephalic Carnage - Anomalies. Converge - Jane Doe is a great song (and album) to test the impact of your stereo with.
I also like KMFDM, Crystal Method, and Aphex Twin for SQ, MJ Cole, DJ Tron and Hellsystem for SQL.

I have recertly become a fan of "Moloko" for SQ stuff, techie with crisp clean female vocals........really hard to find in the US.
"Everything but the Girl"- an all time favorite of mine.
"George Clinton"- very wide range of sounds.

2nd for KMFDM. Also MDFMK's one and only album MDFMK is excellent. Both of those albums can be found on my FTP.

I really like Everything but the girl. Most people think they are one hit wonders but thats only in the pop venue. I really like that many of their songs are played on a real bass.

If you like them look up moloko, especially the "Things to say and do" album it's a little more laid back but has a similar presence with the vocals.

I like Travis Meeks, he's the lead singer of the defunked Days of the New. I have quite a bit of his live stuff and it sounds great to me! Of course I love the live stuff. Alice in Chains Unplugged is deff one of my all time favorite albums. Also, the new Seether album One Cold Night is great as well (also a live album).

We often used Yello - The Race (on the Flag album) on a pair of Thiel reference speakers as a test for amplifiers.

Sade has some really good CJazz releases that I've liked... I do enjoy some of the deep instrumentation that they set behind her often too.
If any of you go looking for her make sure you ask for (Saad Eh) (think canadian) and they'll have a better chance of knowing what you're looking for!

Their current song thats popular (title currently escapes me) I find to be a fun listen. Its not very technical but it is a fun listen.

My downloads of it are still going...

Looks like I'm going to get all but 2 of them. Darn while the transfer was still going I should have looked to see what his IP was so I could connect direct to it... But its probably much easier to just call him and ask for it.
