Reporting live @ Campzone 2010

Post by Marcelbofh »

At the moment me and the GF are enjoying our well deserved yearly holiday.
Since it's not your average holiday, I figured it to be fun to share some snapshots with you guys.
For five years in a row now we are camping out at CampZone, pretty much the biggest outdoor LAN worldwide.

What we basically have here people, is around 1500 gamers spending 11 days camping with their hardware in a tent in some meadow.

Everything is hooked up together by a ring of 2Gbit fibercable, connecting to HP-Procurve gigabit switches that are placed in the center of each of the six fields.
Internet acces this year is a 500Mbit fiber line, which is more then enough for everyone here.
Some (translated to English) info for those who need it:
About
Network
Power
For the rest I will let the pics do the talking, though they really don't do justice to the amazing atmosphere.
Just grabbed a couple of shots, there was just too much to choose from.

Looks like a sausage-fest in the pictures.... 1 girl for every 10 doods..... :batman: :fap: :P :P

This needs more pix man.......Kool pix......
Those tender little burgers with them little, itty-bitty grilled onions that just explode in ya mouth like flavor crystals every time you bite into one.. just makes me want to burn this muthafuka down.... Come on, Pookie, let's burn this muthafuka down!!!

We've been doing that shit in the army for years. We take complete server farms and all peripherals. Your office under canvas. I'm surprised a group of geeks could raise a tent though .....

I use to work with a guy that worked security at burning man, there is no fucking way in hell that a bunch of computer geeks could do the crazy stupid stuff that goes on at that "art festival" as he called it.

work security at any event and you will have to deal with the retards, burning man is a blast.

If you like to party and dance in the desert with 30,000 like minded people its a good time

Same goes for getting your geek on with 1500 like minded people and having a lan party Gaming isnt my thing but if it was i would try and make it to an event like that
