So, I am shipping a package to a member here that is overseas. The package is approximately 12"x12"x10" and weighs in at a whopping 3.75 lbs (for shipping purposes 4 lbs). I first went to the UPS store and got a quote. I had no idea I was in for such an ordeal. For shipping from the US to Brazil the quote was $592.00 USD!! $592.00!!!!!!!!!!      I politely asked the cashier lady if she was high and asked her to redo the quote. She stated that all of the UPS international packages cost this much. Seriously?? For a few dollars more I can get a plane ticket and hand deliver the damn thing!!!

So I went to the USPS and got some sane shipping quotes. They ranged from $36 to $175 USD. That is more like it. Has anyone else had these kinds of issues with UPS? Is this a new thing or was the cashier chick higher than fuck??!!

I know they charge extra just to pass it off to the canadian postal system, no reason they would not rape brazil as well

UPS does not hand anything off to the canadian postal system we have the little brown UPS trucks here too that deliver all UPS packages from the states, sometimes UPS will source it out to DHL or a local courier but never Canada post.
