Hotwheels collecters
Hotwheels collecters
Does anyone else collect Hotwheels and keep them in package?
Just curious as I've got a nice collection going and would like to see some other collections.
I'll post up some pic's a lil later on today.
Mostly muscle cars and high end euro cars, plus a few novelty cars that I could
not resist buying.

Re: Hotwheels collection 56k beware
Ok as promised here's a few pic's, I have about 75 more that I could not fit on the wall
I'm thinking of buying more corkboard and some tacks as I ran out of those too.
I also don't push the tacks through the actual packaging I just use the hook it already has.
just some pic's at random, If there is some interest I will post the entire collection.
I started collecting these in 2000 when I tried to quit smoking the first time, after 7 tries I've been
smoke free for 3 years on March 21st
.
I'm fairly sure the car worth the most is the 1970 Plymouth Barracuda 426 Hemi, It's a first edition from 1992. There is yellowing of the clear shell but even still i know what I paid in an ebay auction and it was a decent price with alot of bidders. There are some worth more than 10 buks too but i didn't start a collection for money just to have them knowing i can't really afford a dream 60's-70's muscle car for real
I also really like the ferrari's especially the black Testarossa circa 1991.anyhoo here ya go LMK if you want to see more....

Re: Hotwheels collecters
Thats alot of cars nice,The ones I sold were my toys when I was young and only had about 30 but I had some rare ones in there that 15 different bidders were trying to get them. Have you joined the hotwheels collector site, they send you advance purchase notices of limited edition cars available to members.

Re: Hotwheels collecters
I was "branded" HOTWHEELS way back in the mid 80's when I was 5-6. I had around 300 cars that I took very good care of and kept in a plastic garage. Never played with them outside but they still showed ware from years of use. My mom had a garage sale when I was about 15 and an older guy was looking through my old toys when he asked if I had any HW's..... I ended up selling him about 100 cars for $75 after I cherry-picked out my fav's. Sold the rest of the ones I didn't want to a guy I worked with that was HEAVY into collecting. I've since given the cars I kept to my son for his collection which is now up to about 150 cars. We play on a floor mat that looks like the top view of a city on a regular basis.

Those tender little burgers with them little, itty-bitty grilled onions that just explode in ya mouth like flavor crystals every time you bite into one.. just makes me want to burn this muthafuka down.... Come on, Pookie, let's burn this muthafuka down!!!

Re: Hotwheels collecters
I still have all mine and have thought about going through it to see if there is anything worth while in my collection. I am willing to bet there are around a 100 at least but I never did count them.

Re: Hotwheels collecters
The only HW I had was from 2000, it was a mustang treasure hunt car. I worked at Meijer in toys/sporting/auto section and went digging. (i'm sorry) into the new unopened boxes and found 3 TH cars and bought them. I sold it about 5 yrs who for $12.
