they paid 180 million for fee's this time around....next year they say they will have to pay 1.8 billion...so stock might go down and rentals prices up till it drops....

I gave Netflix the axe a few months ago. I went to Blockbuster online for my movies. Netflix keeps raising their prices and I for one an sick of it. So far Blockbuster has been pretty good!

*apperently* the movie studios are changing the way they charge for use of movies....and that is why they had to raise their rates. it wold be different if they at least had shit on the streaming side. i might have to resort to newsbins again

I connected a Sirius Sat Unit to my Alpine the other day and it recevies everything and I didn't call in an activation. Kewl. :D :D :D

There's no movie out there that would cause me to pay $8 to watch at home. A theatre visit a few times a year .... maybe. Most providers up here bill on bandwidth usage too so the flick costs more when that's factored in. North Americans get ripped new assholes with the wireless/internet structures the way they are. The need for immediate satisfaction is the carrot they dangle. People have to pass on that and the prices will drop like a whore's drawers on payday. I do not carry a cell. People with their mugs jammed into a minute screen is funny and pitiful at the same time.

The flicks eventually show up in the village gas bar for $3 a night......

The price hikes do suck, but I look at it this way. I only have basic cable. Not because I wanted it, but because they threw it in with internet. I don't watch a lot of TV save for a few episodes of Married With Children when I get ready for work. That's where Netflix comes in. I get to choose what movies I watch and when I watch them with streaming. Yes, their instant movies selectioin leaves something to be desired, but it's getting better, and they have a lot of obscure movies that the video rental stores don't have. For $8 a month ($16 now with the mail DVD's) I have a decent selection of movies available to me, and it's a lot cheaper than cable and video rental stores.

Still trying to decide if it's going to be worth it anymore when the price hike hits in September. The convenience of instant streaming and the movie recommendations they make are what I like and make it difficult to just walk away.

I've come across a few awesome flicks that I might have otherwise never experienced. Prime example is "King of Kong: Fistful of Quarters" It's an awesome documentary that I would have never checked out if it weren't for a random recommendation. Of course they don't have it on streaming, but I highly recommend adding it to your queue before you pull the plug!

I no longer have TV, so this stinks for me. Might consider switching to blockbuster mail, but I have been with NF since the beginning....
