Ground control to Major Tom

Post by nico boom »

At the moment we're waiting for Tom and Wendy to arrive at Schiphol airport over here in The Netherlands.
Weather is clearing up nicely [been raining all morning], a lot of wind but they're used to that when beeing here.
They'll be surprised when they see our two sons again, now 8 and 9 years old; it's been a while since our Canadian friends were our guests.
Hope my lasagna is going to be eatable, going to prepare dinner now.
So if you want to misbehave here, do it now before Tom is online again!

Unfortunately they had to fly to Frankfurt first before they could fly over here to Amsterdam due to missing their connection on Heathrow.
After a lot of waiting and delay's they finally landed here, but Tom's kites appeared to be left in Frankfurt...
So at half past twelve they finally came out of the terminal, very tired after a 22-hour journey....who said going on vacation was fun?
This morning I had to go to work and Tom and Wendy had to go to see family so we didn't have much time to talk this time, hopefully we'll meet again to spend some time together friends!
[watch out, Tom is probably checking us again... :-# ]

Just got back from two weeks in Belgium, didn't have a chance to talk with you guys properly because of all the delays.... :(
Hope you had a nice time over here, and a little less rain than we had!
Did you get your kites back in time to use them?
Greetzz,
Nico

Yeah... that damn flight. 7 hours late! It was similar on the way home too. Nothing but delays. But fortunately the flights were all equally late to depart, so we ended up getting on the correct connections anyways, and made it to Calgary on time!

Thanks again for picking us up at 1am (and waiting at the airport for hours with the bag delays). Really sucked we couldn't chat for long, or see the kids. It was nice to sleep near you at least...?

Terschelling was great, nice and warm, mostly sunny, and yeah we did get the kites in time! Camera batteries completely failed on me after a few days so not many pics :(
