Oregon coast trip!

Post by mr tibbs »

The wife and I are headed to Oregon! Basic plans are to head to the Columbia gorge and play for a few days, spend a few days in the Portland area, then head down the coast camping for a few nights. We will be taking my Land Cruiser and sleeping on the roof top tent so we shouldn't need much room for camping. While in Portland we would like to get a hotel room for a couple of nights to refresh.

So, I'm looking for some suggestions from some locals or others that have made this trip. Any places we should not miss on the trip? Where should we camp? Where to eat while in Portland? We are in the planning phases and are wide open to suggestions. We are thinking sometime in May to take this trip, is that a good time?

And the most important question, does anyone in the Portland area want to meet up for dinner or something one night?? While we were in Vancouver we met up with Tom, Wendy, and Paul and had a great time going out to dinner and finally meeting face to face! I know that we are all growing up a bit and going down different paths but I would still love to meet some of the old school Portland gang. If any of you guys are up for a night on the town or a quick dinner we would love to finally meet you! 8)

Campgrounds and hotels are booked!! We will be camping in the Columbia River George from June 10th to the 13th, then off to Portland and the Paramount Hotel for a couple of nights. After that we will head off down the coast spending a night at Devil's Lake and another night at Redwood State park. From there we will head down to Reno for one night and then back home. It should be a good time!!

We will be in Portland from June 13th to June 15th if anyone wants to catch dinner one of those nights!

We hear that Portland is a foodie town so we are open to whatever for food. Neither of us drink beer, the wife likes wine and I'm a spiced rum guy.

We tried to make Labor Dabor, but the stars just wouldn't align for us. Hopefully we can still meet up with a few of you if you are available! And Tom, Wendy, the baby (that is not so much a baby anymore) and Paul should totally come down for a night and meet up!! Either that or we will have to make another trip to Vancouver!!!!
