I was working in the Calgary International Airport during the G8 meetings in Kananaskis in 2002. It was mother-fucking-lockdown.

Super restricted air space over Calgary and the Mountains, as well as total lockdown around the airport and what not.

Got some great employee photos of the aircraft though... :)

I wish they would repeal the 2 term limit on presidents.

I could really use another 4 years of prosperity under George Bush’s direction.

The last 7 have been pretty kick ass, as I totally agree with about 95% of the decisions he has made. It is pretty rare we have a president I am in such agreement with on all these topics.

Although that image is pretty damn funny, the only disaster Bush has been is a disaster to the Socialist movement.

How about the worst approval rating of any president since they started tracking that sort of thing. Sorry to say Doc, you are deffinately in the minority here.

I know I am in the minority, hell, I AM the minority.

I am the ONLY one on this forum who likes President Bush.

I am the ONLY one here who would vote for him again in a heartbeat.

But then again, I am the ONLY one here who is happy with the current state of affairs in the USA, and has nothing to bitch about, other than all the other people bitching about nothing.

President Bush’s approval rating is lower than anything, that is a fact. But, he is attacked relentlessly from nearly every angle by nearly all the media outlets. If he does one thing one way, they attack him. If he did it just the opposite, they would attack him.

Am I also the ONLY person in the whole world who knows President Bush is not to be blamed for 95% of every thing wrong with the USA, and who really should be blamed are the American people themselves?

There is a system of checks and balances. Bush is not the source of every problem we have.

No one these days accepts any level of accountability for anything they do. That is the fundamental problem with the USA, and that is what is bringing us down. Not President Bush.

Maybe, just maybe your the only one who is looking to blame others for what he is doing. After all, he is the master in charge of the sinking barge. He gets the final say on many, many issues, and even if he does not get the final say, he just goes over peoples' heads and does what he wants. I can actually see this guy being the first president that is accused of war crimes after he leaves office. After all, his ex secretary of defense is allready wanted in at least one country for just that.

You just proved exactly what I stated, no one accepts any level of accountability these days.

So in other words you feel President Bush forced his way into office, much like a dictator. The American people did not vote him in, all of the votes were faked, and he is no different than any other dictator?

I suppose in one year we will get to see the reality of things. If he is still president for another 4 years, than I will admit he is a dictator.

50 years from now we will look back on Bush as another FDR, as quite possibly one of the best presidents in our nation’s history, or at least in the top 5. He has gotten the American people through some very extreme and trying situations, just like FDR did 60 years ago.

I for one am honored to have lived through such a changing and strengthening time in our history, and am so grateful we actually had a president with a set of balls to get us through it.

I believe Mastiff is generally a conservative supporter. I can't vouch for his views on Bush but he may be in favor of the guy.
Eric D wrote: But then again, I am the ONLY one here who is happy with the current state of affairs in the USA, and has nothing to bitch about, other than all the other people bitching about nothing.
Just because you are happy with the state of things doesn't inherently mean there is nothing wrong or that things are perfect. Saying that others are bitching about nothing can so easily be turned around. Say the next president is a Democrat who enacts all kinds of liberal hippy bullshit. Hmmm what do you know, the people who supported Bush are bitching? Are they also bitching about nothing?
Eric D wrote: President Bush’s approval rating is lower than anything, that is a fact. But, he is attacked relentlessly from nearly every angle by nearly all the media outlets. If he does one thing one way, they attack him. If he did it just the opposite, they would attack him.
Welcome to politics and the public eye. Every president ever has been attacked by media. Perhaps in the past it was more underground media but it's not like Bush is the only modern president to be attacked by mass media. They all have been and all will be. There will also always been blind media support, too. Lots of media supports Bush and his doings without question.
Eric D wrote: Am I also the ONLY person in the whole world who knows President Bush is not to be blamed for 95% of every thing wrong with the USA, and who really should be blamed are the American people themselves?
Bush is an American. He's an American person. He's a part of the American people. If the American people are to blame, he's to blame. He also happens to be their leader, and as we all know, when leaders suck, they get blamed for EVERYTHING regardless of if it was all their fault or not. It comes with the territory. Don't like getting blamed? Don't lead.
Eric D wrote: There is a system of checks and balances. Bush is not the source of every problem we have.
I certainly agree. This fact doesn't make him a savior angel either, though.
Eric D wrote: No one these days accepts any level of accountability for anything they do. That is the fundamental problem with the USA, and that is what is bringing us down. Not President Bush.
Bush also has a problem with lack of accountability. The US government lies and lies and lies about international involvement and won't own up to many of their domestic and overseas actions. This isn't limited to Bush, though, it's everyone all the time. But Bush is a part of it and he's likely to be just as guilty of this as anyone who's ever had as much power as he holds.

I forgot all about the war in Iraq.

Congress did not vote to go to war, Bush held a gun to each and every member to make them vote for the war, right?

And staying in Iraq is a dumb thing to do too, right? We should let terrorists come here and fight us on our own streets where they can kill our own family and friends, right?

*********

Bush has done one thing I totally do not agree with. And that is not securing our boarders. If I had my way we would build a big wall and lock out anyone without authorization. All of my friends from other countries came here legally, and are adding to our society. They don’t drag us down or milk off our social programs.

**********

This argument can go on and on, but luckily for us everyone will see the light in a year or so. A Democrat will be elected, and things will keep going downhill. Gas will not get any cheaper, taxes will go up and your buying power will drop like a rock, national security will suffer, our military will be reduced. We will continue to loose countless freedoms we take for granted each day. Then 4 years after that a republican will be elected and everyone will jump up to blame them for the prior 4 years of problems. The cycle never ends.

#1 Please don't put words into my mouth or pull thoughts out of my head. I never said that he is a dictator or anything of the sort. I will admit that he did get elected under some very questionable circimstances, but he was elected in by popular republican vote (see electorial college).

#2 The only reason this country may be in hard times is because we put ourselves there. period. point blank. Saddam and the Iraqi people did not come over here and start a fight, we started it. If you must point a finger point it at the right person and go after them, Osama. Speaking of him where is he?? Did we get him yet?? NO, and why? Because we are going after oil and finishing what daddy started. Show me some proof otherwise, and I'm talking proof, not opinion. And because I know your going to go there ask yourself one question about 9/11, why did they attack us? Did they just wake up one morning and hate us? Nope, there is a reason there, maybe we should find that reason and try to solve the problem rather than just try to kill an entire country(s).

#3 After this post I am done with this. This is not the place to get political for me. Sometimes my emotions run my mouth (and fingers) a little too much for me.

Your point #2 is a good one, oil.

Damn right it is about oil.

Lucky for us it is about oil.

Iraq is a great source of oil, and I look forward to the day I get to pump some of it into my gas tank.

We killed two birds with the Iraq war stone. One we eliminated a dick and made ourselves look good doing it, and two we get a new source for oil, which may compete with our current sources, thus driving the price down.

Our economy functions on oil and new sources of it are always welcome.

Try this argument again someday when oil prices show any kind of significant decreasing trend. Have you ever seen oil prices go down more than superficially? I lived in oil-land for many many years and not once have I ever seen oil prices go down and stay down.

im also a conservative voter, just not as far right as your eric.

i voted bush, and if the same candidates were running in 08, i would again.

but there are plenty of things wrong with our country. the foriegn debt and falling value of the $ are certainly things to worry about (no blaming bush, but it is something in America worth bitching about)

he has done a great job with the unemployment and number home owners though

also his recent discussion to give 30mil (iirc, could have been more) worth of weapons to the Saudis didnt sit well with me
my ex-girlfriend said "its car audio or me"
i've had tougher choices at a soda machine...
