USPS to Canada

Post by dedlyjedly »

I shipped something over the border and it has yet to arrive at it's destination. How long would you canucks say it takes on average for a small package using this form of shipment?

Canada Customs will usually hold it for about 2 weeks. Then add the actual transit time.

My experience is ~2 weeks with receiving packages from the states with USPS.

Odd, of the three last shipments I have received from the states (all from Baton Rouge), via USPS, all three took almost exactly a week to get here. (Two to St. Catharines and one to Brantford, both cities in Southern Ontario).

I also had one earlier this year, again a small package, took about a week to come through, I don't recall the ship from location.

There is another that has taken 10 months, but I think that one is just the guy ripping me off. ;) :( He swears it was sent out, he also tried to ripped off another member onthe same forum, and pulled som eshady shit with him, the other member ultimatly received his purchase though.

You can go to the USPS website and enter the package number, to track it, and see where it is. It's not the greatest, not as good as UPS tracking, but it does get updated, sometimes.

I have had lots of stuff shipped usps to Canada and it takes anywhere from 4 to 16 days. depending on the type of service used. I have never had anything take longer than 16 days. just got a package yesterday shipped from colorado on the 24 of sept. and that was regular mail

Yep, USPS for me is always two weeks (to the day) for basic shipping. Doesn't seem to matter where in the US it's from.

And yeah, I got the Elite stuff.

I receive hardware from the US constantly. Normal is 10-14 days, depending on the weekends. Never longer than 14 days. Going south it's American customs. Canada Customs only checks parcels so they can collect tax. :(

I just received a 200.4 Xenon from Morgan and it took 13 days USPS Priority Post including two weekends, one of them long. 8 days in transit, 5 sitting in a bin.

I just got a huge package from US overseas, sent 28. sept - arrived 10. oct.

So that was not bad, compared to US-Canada ??

So why should Can-US take so long?
