yeah fk me this is an audio forum

I relate reading closely with audio.

I listen to music sometimes for fun. I listen to music other times to make me think. I read for the same reasons.

Anyone else like to read and what books?

I read all the Goosebumps books when I was like 8. Then I got into fantasy novels when I was about 12 with the Redwall series. I moved on the lord of the rings books and then onto some of the deeper(as in less known) fantasy books. When I was about 17 I found the Sword of Truth series which got me into some of the metaphysics behind the series which led me to Ayn Rand books.

anyway...

i was right with you, but my fantasy reading stopped after redwall. all my friends moved up to the wheel of time series...i just couldn't get into it anymore.

the most recent book i read was john stewart's "America" which was fucking awesome

You could mix the two, books on audio. I like biographies and the last one I "heard" was My Life by Bill Clinton. Just finished it last month.

I like alot of Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Michael Chriton, J.R.R. Tolken, Ann Rice, oddly enough encyclopedia's, history books.

These days... computer manuals.

I've read some Sci-Fi, such as Ender's Game and Speaker for the Dead (part of the same series, book 1 and 2 respectively).

I used to read fantasy waaaaaaaay back in the day, Terry Brooks shit... Sword or Shanara I think the series was.

never...only thing I read about is what ever is the day before the test or audio related.

also i read only one book in the redwall series

but if you wanna read a trippy triolgy look for
"vampherilla" not sure on spelling, thats the triolgy, ill look at finding the auther.

Typically I dont read. I usually dont have time. However, I have gone through 2 books in the last month.

"Rivethead: Tales of an assembly line worker" it was interesting to hear about the flint GM plant, being that I live so close and can see directly why it turned into a shithole.

"A whole new mind." Something everyone should read! Makes a great argument about how all the typical "left brained" jobs are going to be outsourced and that we must change our way of thinking.

I would definately read "a whole new mind". Especially if you are in business.

I read occasionally. Lately I have been reading the suse linux manual, fuckin massive it is.

Last book I read that was a real book and not nerdy geek shit was Jackie Collins' Royal Flush, about a racehorse from wimbledon. Good it was.

Most of the time I read joke books and Uncle John's bathroom readers. I do 90% of my reading on the khazi.

Well I actually found out last night that /usr on linux wasnt short for user. It was for unix something something.. lol.

Yeah I have always been able to do the fundamentals with linux (partitions, install and tailoring in the front end) but I figured it was high time I got to know what goes on underneath the GUI

I am trying to some day finish reading "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu, I have the most recent translation which includes an additional 14 chapters never previously translated and this specific translation is from the oldest manuscript ever found dating back to 528 B.C. (1400 years older than any previous translations) this was found in the late 1970's.


I really don't read much at all but I have been known to read Sci-fi wizards and dragons type stuff, Babara Hambly, Terry Brooks, Piers Anthony...........

I read picture captions in car magazines.
