Law schools

need your guys opinions...

What should I shoot for in Law school...well what school to attend.

Im looking locally because of the job I took and there are four great options...

Private:
Suffolk Law, BU Law, Harvard Law,
Public:
Mass Law


Heres my dilemia, the private schools are considered to be some of the top in the nation but all cost $39k a year in tuition. I am taking one year off before I go back and will make around $55k and while attending Law School about $45k a year. After taxes Ill prob take home Im guessing around $110K and since I will have zero bills besides car insurance and cell phone I should be able to keep a good chunk of that saved up.
Thing is Mass Law is only $14k a year....

So im kinda of stuck, what do you guys think I should shoot for? Blowing all my $ and going into around $10k debt to go to a big name law school or go to a pretty good public law school have it all payed off outright and have around $50k to $70k sitting in the bank...thats a fricking downpayment on a house.


fyi there like a 1% chance Id get into Harvard law but suffolk and BU I should be fine.

Best thing to do is to go and see a finacial advisor at the institutions. They will be able to set up a budget so that you can get a better picture what you are looking for. Another thing you are going to want to check out is the schools work policy. My girl just started law school in Chicago, and she had to sign a contract stating she would nto work over a rediculously low amoutn of hours a week (~10-15). However, seeing as how much time she puts in, there is no time to work anyway.

As for the schools, think you would be suprised at the opportunities available from the less known. Just becasue you go to harvard does not mean you automatically get a job. In my opinion, it would be better to become the top student at a smaller school than a mediocre student at a top school. Besides, its all aout networking anyway.

back to topic....you would probibly be happier and thus do better at a school with less spoiled duche bags...JMHO

Go for the big name. With a good school behind your name and competence you will be hard not to employ.

Im not worried about doing good...where ever I go to Law school I will be top of my class, I freaking love this stuff, dont ask me why.

Just a tough choice the $ at first but, one of my friend's grandma's friend's grand daughter just graduated Suffolk w/ a 3.8 and got a $200,000 job straight out of school

It's kinda odd really but hey, seems to be the way I usually end up in a relationship !

After Halloween in Maryland I accidentally went overdrawn with my bank. They charged me $70.

Now, when I signed up for the account I was entitled to one refund of overdraft because I was with a work thing when I joined. The original rep told me I couldnt get a refund so I paid the overdraft (very annoyed about it though).

Then nearer xmas I signed up for a font site and wanted some of the exclusive fonts. It wanted a CC for verification. I have done this before and had NO problems so I did, it charged me for a fucking porn service, $50 which again pushed me OD and I got charged ANOTHER $70.

However, this time I phoned the bank @ 2am (right when it happened) and got them to phone the company who had fucked me over, the bird was very very sharp and smart and got them to admit its a con, she immediately seized the funds back and everything was cushy. We ended up chatting for about 4 hours lol, I was telling her jokes and saying how much call centers suck ass and so forth..

I found out alot about her, she is really cool.

Well then I got a letter from her (sort of professional, you could tell it was to remind me she existed like) and I meant to call her back but I accidentally threw out her number and extension and couldnt find her (cos this call center is massive) and thought that was that.

On the way back from Ohio I went OD AGAIN although this time it wasnt my fault, and called the bank to try and get it refunded. This time was serious though because of the following...

1. I only went OD by 2 bucks. They charged me $70.

2. I got fucked over by a gas pump in Maryland. I ran debit, it said "see attendant" so I went inside to ask wtf.
He said to run it as credit, so I did. I took the pump off the holder then realised that my gas door was now locked. So I replaced the pump and it charged me 7 cents. Cunts, they didnt charge that for a month, when they did that put me $2.07 OD. Another 70 bucks.

3. With my other bank (from OH) you get til mid day the next day to clear the OD and they retract the charge. I went to the local bank here and put in $4. Well with this bank they charge you EVERY transaction you make that doesnt clear up the OD. Another $70 for giving the fucking bank money

Furious I called the bank, they told me the same as before no refund yada da, I asked to speak specifically with this bird and they gave me her extension. She called back last night, another 4 hour chat. This time I called back today and left my email addy on her machine...

Last night though she told me she had left her BF, has an 18 month old boy, blah de blah. Even my room mate said "fucking hell does that bird love you or something?"

So hey, stranger fucking things have happened to me before.

She's 28, has the sexiest damn voice EVER (literally gives me a hard) so if she looks 1/10th as good as she sounds I might throw the USA dice one more time.

Ive never been to the west coast either, so that would be awesome and I would LOVE to see seatltle and oregon (cos war games is based there somewhat and thats the best movie ever).

Watch this space. Oh, gotta say I love her, she always gets me out of debt... last night she refunded $210. Something there is no way would normally happen rofl.
