With all the porn and other shit on the net these days is there a FREE software download for a "parental filter" so my daughter doesn't stumble on Hanna's Hot Snatch while looking for a Hanna Montana video.........?
Or am I better off buying it outright........

Get a Mac

For IE, you can try ParentalControl Bar:
http://www.parentalcontrolbar.org/
Firefox has a bunch of options:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... q=parental
Google SafeSearch works too, as long as you remember to re-enable it after you look for poon images, and she doesn't use any other search engines:

Tom covered it.
As long as she isn't TRYING to find that stuff, the options mentioned should be sufficient.
If you implement some parental controls for one browser, remember that they won't have any affect in another and as such you should restrict which browser she can use.
Does she have her own account on the computer? Does everyone use the same account? It might make sense to set her up her own account with limited privileges, only allow her to run whichever browser and lock that one down with whatever free tools there are.
