Sweet jesus god.

There are some relatively new cars there as well... seems like whoever owned them kept it up until recently.

Gotta wonder what the story is.

the best i could tell from other forums, a widow sold her farm because she was up to her eyeballs in debt, not knowing about her late husbands collection. the new owner didn't either until after he already owned the property

I restore classic mercedes cars, and there is a well-known story about a butcher in scotland, who had "just a piece of old mercedes-junk" in a shed.
someone eventually discovered the car, and wanted to buy it.
the butcher thought; I'm gonna get as much money out of this, as I possably can, and they finally agreed the redicilous high price of 360.000.
the butcher was amazed, and laughed about selling the old piece of scrap for so much money to a fool!
the same year, the one-of a-kind MERCEDES SSK SPECIAL ROADSTER was sold for 1.4500.000 on an auction in germany.
there are only a handfull of these cars ever made.
custom-build in those days ,they costed as much as a estate.
those days of discoveries are not over yet, but get more seldom.
I was witness to only one such an event in belgium.
hope one day, to find mine. [gonna buy you all a beer].....
pic; remains of a 190sl, worth already $18-20.000.
was my first project 10 years ago.
on the pics of this topic, I see some merc's as well, but no "jackpot."
nevertheless, a nice glance in a time-machine chamber.
