Home Office.... ideas?

I have to make a space into a home office.

We have something like 3-4 laptops that need access to various things; a couple of Dells, both identical D600s, and my work T60, our own R40.
All need power, network...

I need space for a natural Keyboard and trackball; I want sound.
I want somewhere for papers and cool lighting; I want accessible USB with several spare ports.
The DX6000 needs to go somewhere, there ought to be space for a small server, the DSL modem, firewall and whatever else I can think of.

Anyone think of something stupid I've missed? I want to cable tidily, I want a real wood worksurface and I'd like to be able to shut it away afterwards.

Space available = 2m wide, 24" deep, something like 24" high.

Thoughts, ideas, inspiration, anyone?

Actually, that's a good point. I don't have to buy anything, I can just steal ideas.
