Brian's Project....portland urban Iditarod

this an event in Portland which consists of a 4 mile "race" where you and your team pull a shopping cart (1 person "drives or mushes")

every cart has a theme...ours is ghost busters

see last years race:

and this is our...borrowed...masterpiece. its not quite finished but close.
most "sleds" have a person running behind and ridding the cart.

we have built a e-brake style breaking system, welded a frame and steering rack for ours. attached 8" inflatable wheels instead of the jarring standard shopping cart wheels that get stopped by small rocks.

the race was this weekend. it was the best and worst thing i have ever done. it was fun and exciting and rewarding, but i felt like i was gonna die!

so much running and our cart weighed a metric shit ton.

Looks like a crazy time. Had to be difficult running with blaster packs on.

Baltimore is too stiff and up tight to do anything like that.

it WAS the backpacks weren't as bad as the cart itself, it weighed a damn near 300 lbs
