Hi Guys! This is Tibbs's better half...

I just finished a Project Management Certification to help me get a big promotion at work. If I get this new job I will need to have a better understanding of Microsoft Office. I have basic knowledge now, just what I know from tinkering and tips people have given me, but I really need to KNOW the programs. I want to start working on this now so if I get the position I am at least making head way.

Long story short, do you guys know of any software or books that would walk me through the different functions of Microsoft Office? I appreciate any suggestions you guys might have!

Ya might hit the library for a "For dummies" book....... They have 'em for just about everything these days.

How bout some "free" online self paced training?

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/training/default.aspx

It's direct from Microsoft. I don't know what kind of training or how indepth the training is...but for free....worth a look anyway.

Go start and ask questions. There are *no* dumb questions. Which version of office / project?

Most of it really is logical when you start, it's repeatable with the minor exception of office 2007.

I have used the Exam Cram 2 books for other software certifications. They might be a good resource too.

Honestly the one thing that helped me learn more about MS Office than anything else I've done is my Graphics Design class that I took in high school.

She can run Office just fine, it's just that 2007 is giving her fits. I'll send along these suggestions and see if this stuff helps her out. Thanks guys!! Let's all hope she gets this promotion, that means more toys for me!

2007 is difficult until you realise that *there really is some logic there!* :D

Ask away, I use 2007 every day. Including VBA - and no, that's nothing to do wid da Funky Pups :)

This.

They are very well written, and in a way that is easy to take in.
