hmmmm.
Carol Shelby, maybe. I concur with the Mast though I don't think the engineering is as solid, the car may do it however the driver's experience may be strongly opposed to doing so again, at those speeds the handling makes all the difference.

I think we've established that "Ka Ka" and "Tukki Tukki" don't work.

Bugatti's was OE, not modded.fuzzysnuggleduck wrote:From another article:
Wait... was Bugatti's record setter also a "modified" version of their production car? Isn't this "cheating"?SSC will use a modified version of its Ultimate Aero that it produced with MKM Racing on closed 12 mile stretch on Nevada’s Highway 93.

They delayed the test until the 22nd and it reached a top speed of 230 mph.
Apparently this was because of sub optimal weather conditions. They are planning on giving it another shot.

This leaves me wondering how Top Gear got access to a better stretch of asphalt than SSC did to perform an unofficial speed test... a stretch of highway in Nevada compared to the VW top-secret track in Germany? Seriously... doesn't the US have a track kick-ass enough for this or what?
