Just some pics of the ms2125 and mps2500 uncovered. Seems as though it was really cold and rainy all weekend I couldn't really do anything. I did manage to get the ms2125 amp box modified to accomodate the plexi and frame.
Thanks, I just wish it would stop raining at least so I can finish up my trunk for the most part.
In the pictures you can see where the wires are diff from the ms2125 and the mps2500. The mps2500 has smaller red and black cable.

Couple of more pics in progress. Too dang cold here the past two weeks to do much of anything when you don't have a garage
.
Should I leave the frames bare wood or paint them and if so what color?
My next order of business is to get a sheet of plexi for mps2500 and rebuild the ax406-a crossover that goes above the mps2240. Just too cold right now though.

Everything looks absolute steller thus far. BTW, you work at a post office or something? All of that priority mail tape and stickers holding in your templates. Me personaly, I'd go w/the amps upside down under plexi BUT I'd use a board to cover them up when not in use. If you need something put in the trunk, you'll just scratch the piss out of all the plexi. Only to show off and at shows would I remove the cover board. My two cents.
"ZPA's will have the same sound essentially as you get from the MS, they just feature a bigger shinier set of balls."

From the pictures it looks like he's not using factory-style plexiglass that is built into the amp, rather he put plexiglass pieces over the enclosures and left the amps "naked" underneath. This would be fine, as you would only be damaging the enclosure plexi by throwing stuff on top. This could be replaced much easier in the future than the factory amp plexiglass.
At most a simple mat over the floor would keep it pretty safe.

Thanks. No, i'm a systems engineer for a insurance company. I've had that tape for several years now when I used to ship stuff through the post office. It's free for the consumer anyway so I thought I might as well make the use of it nowsmgreen20 wrote:Everything looks absolute steller thus far. BTW, you work at a post office or something? I've taken the white bottoms off the amps except for the right one (mps2500). I've not got the plexi bought and cut for it yet. I was thinking about getting some carpet or some type of material to just put on the amps just so they don't get scratched up when i'm hauling something. The trunk is flush from left to right so a thin piece of carpet or other material would probably be enough to just cover it.stipud wrote:From the pictures it looks like he's not using factory-style plexiglass that is built into the amp, rather he put plexiglass pieces over the enclosures and left the amps "naked" underneath. The car is a dark green (camry). I might take my scrap pieces of wood and paint them close to the car color and another one white and see which one looks better.

What do you think?

Firing into the car with the seats folded down mostly.stipud wrote:Are you firing the subs into the trunk or into the car? If into the trunk I think that green may go nicely with the ID subs.

What year is your Camry? I had a 93' did an enclosure in the trunk where yours is but instead of firing forward I fired the subs stright up. Took the hat rack cover off, used a sawsall and cut out the sheet metal between the rear speakers. On the hat rack, took the factory grilles off, made an open frame with 1/2" mdf rounded off on the outside edges that covered the whole area across the back where the speaker grilles were and the cut out space in between, covered the frame with grill cloth that matched the interior. Cut the same opening in the hat rack that I did in the sheetmetal, and screwed the grillcloth frame to the hat rack from the backside. Worked out really, really well - didn't have to fold the seats down ever and trunk rattle was non-existant with d-mat in the trunk and looked stealth. No one noticed it wasn't factory until I pointed it out. The car was built for sq but with the 12's I had in there I could hit 140 with the seats up when I wanted to. Went that route especially because the rear seats don't fold down very well and certainly don't lay flat as you know. Just an idea for ya' it was really easy to do and way worth it! - Jeff
1998.
Never thought about doing it like that. If it wasn't a daily driver something along those lines would probably be considered
So far I've not altered anything so if I do trade it in or whatever it's still factory.
Been really busy past month and not got to do much on the trunk or doors. I'm ordering some deadliner (fatmat or, can't remember name, starts with an "R" I think) for the doors this week.
I did get the eclipse cd5000 mp3/cd player instead of the pioneer. Got it for a little over 200 from an authorized dealer. So far I can really tell the difference in SQ from my older Alpine. Overall it's plenty for what I want in a HU.
Here are a few pics. I only lack the right panel and it should be pretty much done I think.

All of the trunk is basically assembled into pieces. They just sorta slide/snap into place.
