I am not going to chance this floor getting wet and the water being trapped under there. A buudy of mine has replaced dozens of floor pans in these exact cars. Biggest problem from the factory he said, was they should have left these channels open.ttocs wrote:curious why you cut the material out of the channels?

I'll second that Tom...... But in that car, it has to make all the difference in the world......stipud wrote:My hands are blistering just looking at all of that deadening
Those tender little burgers with them little, itty-bitty grilled onions that just explode in ya mouth like flavor crystals every time you bite into one.. just makes me want to burn this muthafuka down.... Come on, Pookie, let's burn this muthafuka down!!!
Got further along on the interior, started with the carpet.

Re: My (all PG) 914 build
I just started back on my project today
I got the DD5 installed in the center console. I want all components hidden, to keep a stock low profile look. I did however want to be able to see the view window. Here is a pic of the console.

Re: My (all PG) 914 build
How is it to change the fuses now? They seem like they would be VERY difficult to access. That foam looks to be a little thick. Why even bother with it?
Re: My (all PG) 914 build
the console comes out with 4 screws, a fuse would prolly take 10 min or sostipud wrote:How is it to change the fuses now? They seem like they would be VERY difficult to access. That foam looks to be a little thick. Why even bother with it?

I had the center cushion recoverd by a local shop, and I made a custom EQ cradle that bolts to the chasis of the car. This was the best place for access and it fit perfect.
