Re: My (all PG) 914 build
looks good but I would consider painting the edges of the pexi rather then the vinyl personally.
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.

Excellent job so far! I love stealth installations. I too would be concerned about accessing the fused on the DD5, but if everything is done properly, you won't be needing to access it very often. I accidently blew a fuse in mine messing around (twice) and it took about 10 mins to change out. Not a big deal. Having the EQ accessible from the driver's seat is a huge benefit to ease tuning. Good idea.

Re: My (all PG) 914 build
Got the Console wired last night. OMG was that a lot of wires. I ran all cables as far as the engine bay, then I got really tired. Way too much splicing and crimping and squeezing when the temp in my garage is 20 degrees.
Now I am ready to work on the rear trunk and engine bay next
sorry about pic quality, As you can see... you cannot see anything

Then I started on the rear trunk. I made a cabinet to fit all three amplifiers and coverd it with a combination of carpet and vynal. Came out O.K.
I also drilled 2 holes for the cables to pass through from the engine bay

Re: My (all PG) 914 build
Wow, this thread is great. I never even knew this was here until reading about the naked girls photos in a 914 build thread and digging around a bit. Great job so far, and please keep the photos coming. Few people ever document all the steps in an install and the photos are very valuable guidance to anyone else doing an install.

Re: My (all PG) 914 build
Agreed! Watching the step by step evolution of an install is way more rewarding than just looking at the finished product!

Re: My (all PG) 914 build
Awesome car and nice work so far.
Re: My (all PG) 914 build
Figured I would post the front trunk pics. I put the 2 rsdc122 in a box that fit every angle of the front trunk. If you notice i even had to notch the corners in the front to fit between the headlamp buckets. This box is designed in 4D lol
I think it came out great, and it fits like a glove. With each 12 running on its own XS2500 and the whole soundstage in the front, It sounds freakin awesome.

Re: My (all PG) 914 build
looks good man but I can't help but think that the hood could probably benifit from some sound damping with the subs firing into it like that. Does it rattle much?
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.
Re: My (all PG) 914 build
I love the subwoofer box! Not many people can have two 12" subs in the front of the vehicle, I'm jealous!

Re: My (all PG) 914 build
That's insane. How does the bass get into the cab?
Re: My (all PG) 914 build
The Hood does not rattle at all. There is a nice thick rubber seal all the way around, and it holds to it tight. The air can travel freely into the cabin through two 4 inch round holes located just above the drivers and passengers feet. It is a nice breeze
