By the way, you should try to find a Clarion DRX-9255! It matches the vintage of your car and your install much nicer. It was the SQ deck to beat back in the day, so it will also sound a lot better than the Panasonic.

Also your Frank has some very old capacitors in it. We have seen a lot of MS series amps go up in flames once the capacitors start leaking their magical goo. It's usually a good idea to replace the capacitors on your MS gear before that happens to a priceless item like yours!

man, thats some awesome kit there, send me a PM of what you thinking , I am interested in the 4's and 5's and tweeters, the PLD under the dash , and all the RCA's and power cable.

I know a few guys would be tempted to grab that EQ and amplifier off you. I still think you will not find better equipment (both cables and connectors) and amplifiers then whats in there.

audiocontrol YUK !!!

Manuals are under the car audio section. Check the top stickys.

scottx wrote:Actually, I plan on ripping everything out and replacing it this summer. The old school look will come to an end for this car.

I want to do the trunk out of fiberglass.

I also am going to put some 19 inch Lexani wheels on it that a friend has. (I'm afraid the car's too low for them though).. So I might airbag the car.
You can't be serious! You've got a competition grade period matching sound system and you want to strip it out!? That install is/was a work of art

Fiberglass will look so out of place in that vintage of car, and there's damn near no amp you can buy today that will be as good as the one you already have!

Wow, REAL Lanzar woofers, before the company was bought out and trashed. Those are excellent woofers for their time, and probably still are competitive with a lot of products on the market.

The first woofer I ever bought was a Lanzar OA15. I used it in a box I built running off my home stereo as I was still not old enough to drive.

It is all a matter of opinion. These days every installation has fiberglass. It is not even all that impressive when everyone is doing it.

I know if it were me I would just tweak the current installation to my liking. Get a Clarion DRX-9255 deck like suggested above, it will spank all over that Panasonic for SQ. Or, if you want to make the system a bit modern while keeping some vintage flair, go with the newer DRZ-9255. It has a lot of digital processing, so you could either skip the EQ215ix, or with the Clarion and the EQ215ix you would have any tweaking covered.

I know you won't want to hear this, but that JL A6450 has to go. I am familiar with the 4-channel from that line, and an old MS will beat all over it. Even though you sold the Frank, you can still fit some other MS amps in there like a MS2125 and MS275, or even 3 MS275s.

I assume you are into SQ, not SPL, and any of my suggestions are going on that assumption.

Ok, skip my above post, you are not into SQ like I thought... :(

you don't deserve those cables, sell em to me now .......hehehehehe

Kidding dude, but seriously , you sold one of the most sought after amp to buy an off the shelf item. If you don't mind me asking what did you sell it for.
