This was a shop I used to work at's Demo vehicle. The shop I currently work at bought it. It was broken into, and 4 of the 9 amps were stolen. Thanks to some members on here(euligious mostly) I was able to put her back together. It may be old, but DAMN it's loud. It was built to compete in SPL(hit 169db ten years ago), as well as SQ. It will play for hours on end with no problem. Some highlights that you can't see in pics: 3 yellow tops, 6 caps, bass cube, PG EQ232 under seat, selinium tweeters, Image Dynamics mids and horns, all 1/0 and 2ga wire, all PG connecting hardware, burp switch in gas cap door.
Oh, I threw in some pics or a cool little Power Wheels I built last year. Custom fiberglass enclosure, 4 channel amp under hood, JVC HD radio, 5 1/4 coax in doors, custom paint. My son loved it!!

Must be Sound Waves, Prospect Park.
I used to talk to Rob Elliot often back in those days.

Sound Waves is correct. Worked there for like 4 years. Awesome shop when owned by Rob Elliott. Car audio isn't what it used to be!!

The 169 of then would be the 159 of now w/the new TL. I, we, know a guy that has 12 12"s in a van and 6 of the JBL/Crown amps (those 9k watt bastards) and 172 batteries and could just make the 170 mark w/a TL. It just seems a bit hard for me to believe that 4 15" XMAX's each w/its own XS2500 could do that. I'm not trying to be a bummer.
On the plus side, it's nice to see it getting it's glory days back and by a fellow member none the less. I like it, esp the amp rack. It looks like one solid wall of amp.

Six 15's, not four. I'm pretty sure the number was correct. Although it has been years since it has seen a show or comp.

New Term lab would be just over 150db's probably. It's really hard to hit 160's on it. I've only seen one car close locally 157db's on the new TL and it had 2 18's in a wall right behind the drivers seat and a ton of power going to them. Too bad you don't live closer I could test it with my term lab. Very nice set-up by the way -Enjoy!

very nice install. there is no way that is ever gonna hit 169 on a TL but who cares for back in the day a vehicle like that was considered loud. i know of guys running 10k with walls of 18's or 15's and they are hitting mid 150's on TL. like I said tho nice ride.
Do you cruise in it much?

We play it here at the shop alot. Every time we play it we get a call from one of the neighbors complaining. Last week a guy 10 houses up from our shop came down and said we knocked a picture off his wall!! It's great. We do drive it around the nieghborhood though. You have to drive with earplugs! Alot of fun to see people's reactions.
