FJ Cruiser A pillar pods

Just finished these up for a buddy (well it's his wife's vehicle  )

Making sure everything is symmetrical

The 3M double sided tape is used to compensate for the grill cloth and suede

This is my new favorite find. Foam paper! Got this from AC Moore (craft store) for .99 cents a sheet. It looks good and works great as a gasket at the same time

Overall I'm pretty happy with them. Especially considering it was between 30-40F degrees for the whole 20+ hours I worked on them :(

Just have to go for it bro! I picked it up through lots and lots of trial & error, but there are some videos out there to help you get started. I'm also glad to help with any questions anytime

Thanks. I do have one question, why did you cut all the holes in the pillar?

Fibreglass doesn't stick well at all the plastic. Drilling the holes lets the FG run through to the back acting like little nails to hold it in place.

you basically get it to bond around the plastic and lock itself inplace since it will not chemically bond.

I did the same thing on my kick panels 3 yrs ago and they have held up very well so far. The paint is starting to show some wear so I am considering covering them in carbon fiber.
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.
