Need to understand what I would need to wire in my Amps into a island BBQ. I know I need some type of AC/DC converter, but not sure what exactly. I'm assuming some that outputs 12+volts. The other question is around wiring. I'm assuming I would wire the positive from the AC/DC converter to the + of the AMP and then wire a negative to the BBQ steel frame?
Thanks,

Installing Amps into BBQ Island - Need Help
Re: Installing Amps into BBQ Island - Need Help
depending on the amps you are using you will need a large power supply and they are not cheap. no I would run the neg straight to the amp rather then the grill.
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.

also be sure to keep them from the heat... Take a look at the fuses on the side of the amps and you will need a power supply that can carry that amperage.

You can get the Kinetik 80amp, 13.6v PS on the Bay for $279.99 shipped. I have the same PS for an upcoming install, but am also using a Kinetik 600 battery in conjuction with the PS.KOREDISH wrote:I'm using tantrum 300 or 500s.ttocs wrote:depending on the amps you are using you will need a large power supply and they are not cheap. no I would run the neg straight to the amp rather then the grill.

Re: Installing Amps into BBQ Island - Need Help
Power supply has + and - cables coming out of it. Hook it up to those like you do in a car, with fuses of course. Pretty easy after that... just plug it in and away you go! Definitely do NOT ground to your BBQ

Re: Installing Amps into BBQ Island - Need Help
bet the speakers would pop when you hit the ignitor, be easy to test them anyway...
