2007 lexus is250
okay you all, how have you been? miss me much?
anyway i have started working on my car so here is a sneak peak of what i just finished last nite. this will be a slower build since i have to try to get lexus to take care of my dash board, its known to "fall apart and have oiley residue " ooze from it. and mine is really bad but lexus in hawaii is trying to tell me that its not common of a problem but all over the nation its happening. noobz..anyway i removed my radio to do a pad install and the dash literly fell apart around the seems by radio. oh im rambling. here is a pick or two to start. im deciding if i should run one of the new elite 12s or four six half subs in a bandpass enclosure. the bandpass i can make look so nice inside as the 12 would just be a box. ill figure it out. aloha
so here is the plumbing for my airbags. figure i would mount it to the crush gaurd on rear of car and hide it all and then mount the tank and compressors in trunk. so far i have all the plumbing built with digital dakota pressure sensors, just gotta wire it up and then i can move to the interior.

I would make sure not to have anything past the metal part of the bumper one small bump from behind and you will have broken parts and a big leak.
Re: 2007 lexus is250

Re: 2007 lexus is250
hahaha!
well the rims will be
19x10 rear
19x 8 front offset is 35 but i will space it out after rolling fenders, no no hellah flush for me but i will get the rims as close as i can to the fender.
the rims will be Work VS-KFs the face is painted black chrome and the lips are getting sprayed a purple/blue to match the pearl in my cars paint...hard to explain the color but its really sweet.
yes stipud...one more inch, i just need to get the tires so i can put them on the car to finalize the drop.

Re: 2007 lexus is250
hello been busy with other things but i started molding my front bumper and modifying my grille. side skirts are already adhered and ready to mold to stock skirts. here is some pics of the car with kit on it, tommorrow i do rear bumper lip and modify that to sit lower. reason the front bumper looks like its been cut cause orginally i cut the bumper to mold the lip to at where the lip normally would go. it was still way to high even with bags dumped so i rewelded the piece i cut off then rewelded the lip kit back on it 2 inches lower then whre it would normally sit. i have to finish fusing it from rear then i can body work and blend the lip back to the bumper. the whole idea is for the lip to look stock and not like an add on lip. also by doing thsi i was able to pull the lip up and make it even instead of the normal lood where the center of the lip looks like its sagging.

Re: 2007 lexus is250
so i started the modification to the stock lexus stereo.
1. the stock six disc player controls the hvac controls, pull the cd player no hvac. so i had to figure out a way to house a din eq face and possibly a double din or a older alpine flip up and cd player.
i am narrowing it down to the old school alpine headunit/flip screen.
cda-7969
tme-m790
dva-5210 please if anyone is selling one ill buy it.
pxa-700
all of my mp3/data music will be handled with my note 2 and i will convert the hdmi signal to digital to run through my pxa DACs.
first thing i need to do was find a unit to destroy. i finally after six months of searching got it.
i removed circuit board for hvac/radio display and desoldered the display for radio off of board to free up some space to move the stock clock/hazard assembly up.
then i started cutting and modifing the area to fit the pxa face.
i found a lower installation kit from china for the replacement of the stock cd player.
i am in the process of removing circuit board from cdplayer and rebuilding a housing to mount it in to feed power. i remvoed cd drive and powered board and a.c comes to life.
this is where i am at for now and will try to do some more next weekend.

Your car sits perfect. Gonna be a crazy H/U install . A little more involved than just chucking a deck in there.

update sub box getting built
i been busy yesterday and i decided on 12am on my birthday to build my box for my car.
after carefully outweighing the failure rate i decided to build a bandpass box for the elite, it specs really bad on paper and between morgan and I we cant seem to find a way to make it sound good. 30 dollars later and couple of hours of work and i have the basics built and ready. i did change the tuning of front chamber to see if it will take out some of that nasty peak. Morgan if it slams credits all yours LOL.
here is some pics of it in car. keep in mind as like all my boxes i always have to build them in car. why couldnt i drive a 2013 chevy cruse. have you guys seen the trunk on that car? so perfectly square and you could probably face two 18s forward.
here is some pics. i am working on the port at the moment. its a tricky little one because it has to be built seperatly from enclosure and box has to be assembled partially in car.
so as you look into the trunk the sealed chamber is the one facing rear. this will have a plexi if this box works. i will rebuild it with more flare but now i need to see if this prototype will sound the way i want it to. if it doesnt then i will have to go back to building the ported version which will be harder to build then this box...the ports all fire through the ski pass.
i will keep you all posted.

Re: 2007 lexus is250
i had some time the other morning to start modifying my stock stereo to make my a/c come back to life and allow me to go to the next step of my deck install.
so i removed the stock cd player and removed the circuit board. powered her up and my a.c blows again.
i then built this custom enclosure out of abs plastic to house the board and found a nice spot right behind the display.
fits perfect and it works!!!
