The things I have planned for the exterior of the tib are going to make some people stop and take note, but that's for another time.
So my latest project was fitting my new front stage, this consists of 3.5" clif designs mid coaxials and clif 6.5" coaxials.
I know that these speakers won't set the world on fire but I'm no rich man and I am very happy with having them, I count it as a blessing

Anyways, I noticed on my tib that the stock 6.5" placements are very good, and, Hyundai even went as far as making little plastic pods for them to go in that can be easily sealed (that project is eyes closed stuff and will take no time at all) so placing the 6.5's was a no brainer (even tho I am saving that tol last)
The issue was where to put the 3.5 inch speakers as the tib is hardly spacious.
If it seems I am going into stuff already covered I am posting this on other forums so that people who missed the beginnings knew what I had planned and why.
So I duly noted that there were vents in the doors that were horribly placed as vents (I get nosebleeds from car heat so always have it at my feet and let it rise like heat scientifically does on it's own) so I never used these vents.
But, as horribly placed as they were for heating vents they were fucking perfect for speakers. They face right up at you and are sunk in out of the way. Perfect.
So part one involved removing the duct/vent and putting the speaker in, like this.

This wasnt very hard really. I had to bend the mounting tabs on the speakers to mold into shape on the door but that was easy.
Now. Some on RDtiburon say I should have blocked the vent. But, during this process I noticed that the side window defogger would still work perfectly, and the heat that used to dry poor pandy's nose out and cause nosebleeds would then channel into the door panel. This is ideal because the tib tends to pick up water in there when it pisses down with rain and this will allow the door to get some nice dry warm air in order to keep it dry. Itll also warm the door panels to the touch, bargain

So they were in. pretty tidy without rocket science. But I do have passengers in the car alot (girls watching movies) and I know chicks can sometimes be a little clumsy as to touching things they have no idea what they are. I could envision some chick saying "Hey what are these? speakers?" and poking her fingers into them causing damage. So I had to come up with an idea of covering them.
It didnt need to look astounding, the sound is the important part, but I didnt want it looking totally shit.
I racked my brain for a week trying to figure this out and in the end I went and got a set of tin snips, made a template out of card and then set to work cutting and bending the grilles that came with the 6.5 inch speakers that I wont need or use.
End result? not perfect but does the job admirably, keeping my little speakers safe. I even put the badge back on

Another angle.

The screws look a bit unsightly buy as I said Im more worried about what damage could come to my speakers if left uncovered
