Yeddy's GTO

I thought I should finally upload some pix of my current project. My 91 RHD Mitsubishi GTO TwinTurbo, it was bone stock all original when I bought it.
Everything was done last summer by myself, full seat/interior reupholster, Carbon Fibre/Chrome Dash, Short shifter, 3x Gauge pillar pod, all dash lighting changed from amber to white, etc...
This is the "little" system I first put together when reuniting with Phoenix Gold a few years back.
This year I will be putting in the "BIG" system after replacing the caps in my ZPAs...

nice I had a buddy that had the dodge stealth version, certainly a fun car to race from a dig! I think we also just had someone asking for pics of systems with those very amps so perfect timing. Those black ZX amps are bullet proof inside and out...

Yup, that was me asking :D

The build looks really nice and neat. How do you like the SQ of these amps?

Hehe, I don't know how it could possibly sound any better. This little setup amazes everyone who sits in it! "There is no way that's only one sub" I always have to prove it. The zx500 @ 2ohms is rediculous. Zx450 is awesome too, just make sure you get good speakers, that makes all the difference.

they were always a good mix of SQ and power imo as well as super reliable. They didn't suffer from the rust problems the Ti's after that...

In all the posts ive read, the users of these amps regard them highly.
I'll be running Focal K2P speakers passively at first off my zx450 and a JL12W3 off the 500.
Next week can't come soon enough!!!

The JL12w3 is probably your weakest part IMO but I'm a bit of a bass head. The w3 is only like 300watts. I had 2 12w3 running of a zx350 when those were all new. It was loud. Be careful not to overpower the sub, the zx500 at 2 ohms would blow apart 2 12w3s no problem, let alone 1 w3 at 4 ohm.

I'm with you there bro, but i got the sub for cheap and it's not for pounding, just some bottom end to compliment my fronts.
I've been driving with the stock system playing off my Alpine 117 for the last 6 months now and i'm desperate for an upgrade.I do plan on changing out the sub later in the year.

Any more info on the GTO, was this a conversion? JDM swap? Etc?

The mid side of the amp seems to be a little more powerful then the zx450. I hooked up the amp without the eq's first off to compare. I tend to like it more. The sub channel at 2 ohms is a lot weaker then the zx500 at 2 ohms, but I knew it would be. I'm gonna have to put some more time in and build a new box to hold my 2 bostons, or my 2 12"Hertz HX300D's. I can't decide which to put in, but either way I can run it at 1 ohm, I'm hoping it'll be more power then the zx500 at 2 ohms...

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

The boston more powerful and has greater movement by the looks. If you have both I would make a plate for the other sub and try it and listen. Listening wins all time. Specs are specs. Mmm my 2 cent

Everything is done by myself, with some help from a couple friends from time to time.. Seems every time I've dropped a car of mine off somewhere to get some work done, something comes back broken or screwed up so, 99.9% of everything I post was done with my two hands! :D

I have pretty much decided that one day I am going to put a light package on my truck and just never let my wife see it because she is totally against it. That and a 160 db train horn LOL.

what is the green/white down in the grill? Love the aggressive hood. I am looking at a similar style for my mustang called a cobra-R(styled after a ford mustang race car) but I want to get carbon fiber and have just not pulled the trigger yet.
