Damn that's looking great. Can't beat MB Quart speakers with Mobil ES power and processing. Great install too.

Where the heck do you buy 9 ply birch? That stain job looks fantastic.

Much appreciated David. My buddy from work does side jobs in high end cabinet making. His selection is a little better than lowes.
I really don't know the answer though I just paid the cash and got to try my hand in staining the box. My wife convinced me into the darker stain and I couldn't be happier.

Thought I would at least post up something since I've just left you guys hangin for a bit. I had some touble getting the xes system to work properly and was quite discouraged for a while. I decided to get a pioneer 80prs while it is being serviced. I've got the "man" Mitch going to look it over for me. He is known for being the guru of the xes system. At least I'll be able to listen to the system temporarily. It's been such a pain troubleshooting this thing and I've been quite unsuccessful.

And why you all buying p80 instead of p88 or p88II...

The system isn't operating properly. It will only power up aux mode which doesn't allow many features which are a must such as time alignment etc...

I found a deal on it for $140

Well guys I here to throw myself under the bus. I figured out the problem with the xes system. It's called dumb ass operator error. I sent it over to mitch to check it out and resolve any issues and he said there were none. Then he said that he noticed the alpine ai net cable in the box that I sent him with the entire xes system in it. I had read online that the alpine ai net and sony unilink were the same and interchangeable. turns out that they are the same plug but not wired the same internally. I feel like an idiot!
So the system is on its way back here and should install without issue now that I have a few new unilink cables. I'm sure some of you guys already knew these were not interchangeable and now so do I. lol. I should be up and running full tilt xes style really soon. Then I can start with the real fun of trying out the pg amps and d7 diamond audio in place of the sony's to see the difference. I'm getting excited again now after all the frustration.

Glad to see those PG amps I sold you are still there. Do you plan on using them on a different install?

Sorry for the delayed reply (holidays were busy)
Not sure when I'll use the 0.5. I'm finishing up a Jetta turbo diesel and may go for my two zpa's in that one.

I've given up on the xes system. Amps are staying though.

told ya ;) sony xes system is problematic, because it's old, a lot of work for renovating. Two of people i know had issues all the time with this system, and off course it happened during competition time :)

Not sure about the electronics, but the XES amps are amazing. What are your thoughts so far?

They are bad to the bone. Super powerful and sq is right up there with my pg amps. Hopefully everyone here doesn't shoot me for saying so.
To be honest I wish I had kept my other two m1 amps cause the m3's are a bit much for my mids/highs. My poor speakers are taking a beating.
