round two part deuce............
well i calculated a whooping 5 cubic ft of volume total and i dint have to go into the spare tire well. if i did i could have gotton almost 6 cubes
more then enough for two subs...
here is some progress, still need to sand the front and decide what im gonna finish it with
yellow paint or vinal cloth.
also the extension is done and as you all can see it helped me get the volume i needed.
now i must finish the front of box and then stick it in the car with the sub mounted. then secure enclosure with some brackets i made.
then the second peice will slide on with inside braces which i will post later.
total volume loss is .8 cubic ft and that is too the displacement of my ports, woofer, the offset of the ring, and braces which i will be putting in.
leaving me with four cubic ft tuned at about 25 hz.
im sure this thing is gonna sound not the greatest but for low end it will be dominant. im simply building a subwoofer system that will play low and decently loud.
i may tune higher depending on how i like the sound.
again ports will be firing through rear deck.
using four inch areo ports one on each side. another reason i wanted the enclousre so large is due to the length of the port. at 2.5 cubic ft my two ports would have been in the excess of 36 inches. i am gonna play with tuning to see if tuning it higher will help with overall sound. gonna have fun with it. i will keep you all posted on it as i go. i will be probably replacing my jl xr for some DLS componants. ill need some good midbass up front.

WOW! Neat enclosure Alot of work has definitely been put into that box. I don't think people realise getting cusom boxes as such take up a whop of time to design, calculate, cut up, assemble and install. So, hat's off to ya!
