Here's what i've been working on the past couple of weeks. Right now I am on hold waiting for some wire, fuses, and battery isolators to arrive in the mail. There will be 6 of those batteries filling the empty area that you see there.

......That's gonna move some air for sure!!...

Shit guys, I was at a car audio show today and was checkin out what people have in their systems. A couple of people had 9 positive 0 AWG wires and 9 ground 0 AWG cables running from their hood battery to their amps in the back. They only had between 2 and 4 amps!! So they had the cables running to blocks in the front and in the back and then dual power inputs in their amps. I asked why the hell don't they just put the battery in the trunk then? They said because that would put them into a different class. I asked why the hell they would need THAT many wires for power when its only 1 battery, they said it makes a difference. If thats all true, I feel like im not even coming close to taking to right steps into making the best system possible. Although i've got a battery bank, and my amps only have single power inputs... I don't know, its just mind boggling. I have only been to a couple of events in my life, so i'm learning as I go.

Just learn about the laws of physics; and you'll be fine.
There are simple laws to determine how thick your wires should be; don't let other people's installs or visions make you do the same in your own car.
-ask yourself; am I building within regulations, to win in a certain category, or am I building for myself, using my own ideas.
-batterie[s] in the trunk is ALWAYS a better choice when using multiple big amps IMO; saves money on cable[s], and shortens the resistance the current "sees"while traveling to your amps, especially when "peaking" during S.P.L competitions.
So go ahead and build your own system.
If you need good advice; ask the experienced members here for advice for the right cablesize, based upon the current-draw of your combined system, cable length etc.

Hes right ya gotta do your own thing. Take advice from others but what will work in one vehicle might not work in yours.

You have a wall setup and you woiuld be in a modified class so Competition will be tight , but its that way in every class now it seems. Different show have different folks that show. On day you compete in a town and recieve a trophy the next wekk 20 miles away you get blown out of the water

I think its cool to be different , regarding the vehicles used.

No offense to Honda Civic owners but the last show I was at there had to be about 20 of em competing and alot have the same setups so its not too different and unique but to each there own I guess

To thedeal7235: Yeah, one big port. The port is divided in half with a wall that separates 4 subs from the other. As well, there are 6.5" mids and 6x9's at the bottom built into the wall but there is an airtight baffle going behind each of the mids. The port was made as close to spec as possible for SPL according to the manual for the subs.

Yeah I keep telling myself, i'm building this system for my own pleasure. Not to any specific regulations. I wanted it to look nice and clean and work as best possible. That's all that matters. The other thing too is, a lot of these people who have butchered their vehicles are loud yes, but don't even get to drive around with the system because its strictly for show and competing only. I think thats a bit of a waste, I would rather be able to drive and listen not park and listen. If car audio is CAR audio, then what's to stop these people from just putting a stereo into a square trailer air-tight and calling it their system? It's the same thing to me if you have a car with a system that don't run on the road. I know it's still a car, but it's kind of like putting a Chev big block into a Ford Escort. It just don't fit. That's the idea I guess...

When I show you guys what vehicle it's in, you're gonna laugh. Hard. I like to call it a "sleeper"...

I had to put heavier duty leaf springs in the rear end because it sagged really bad before. The weight of the system is at least 1000 lbs.

I had 2 new alternators put under the hood. A 180 amp and a 200 amp. Each alternator runs a battery isolator. The power system was a little complicated at first, but it works out to be perfect loads for both alternators.
