96 Blazer, 4x6 factory speakers in the dash replaced by Ti6s. Noticed increased imaging and midbass from this location and thought, how much better would my 9s sound?

If it sounds good, you should flush it all together. That would be insane!

Yeah, but I'm loath to glass the whole dash.... nightmare in sanding and god knows how much to paint... I'm just a guy with a garage, I don't have a lot of the stuff it takes to make a job like that easy.

The best part of having a 3 car garage for a shop is that you can clean it on your own schedule.

That looks awesome!!!! I've never seen 9's in the stock dash before. Yer right about having the right tools for a job like glassing the whole thing. That's alotta work.
Good job........

I had mine in the door too. I had 9s 6s and tweets in the door with 6s in the dash. I noticed i got great midbass out of the 6s in the dash and no midbass from the sealed door location. When i got the p-9 and i wanted to time align, I knew i had to move the 6s or i couldn't time align with the midrange in two diffrent places. So i put both 6s in the door and moved the 9s to the dash.

Too bad I didn't do it! my friends did it. I think it was amazing. They did it in like....................6 hours? or so....
If even that...dropped it off in the morning, went to work called me when it was done, picked it up after work....
Was awesome...didn't cost me much...just parts....
I was owed many favors!

Yes I agree, I love the facory look. But given the choice, I will always choose funtionality over looks - see my thread My Ugly SPL Van. Not pretty to look at but all the pretty installs I saw didn't come close to sounding like me. Once I got a job on the spot by beating the shops 3 W7 and 3 JL 1000/1 install with 2 Alpine Type Rs on a Diamond D6 1500.1. Theres a lot to be said for a factory install, but at the end of the day I want my money to sound good more than look good, and alot of times it comes to that choice in the end. IMHO.

I couldn't afford to make it "sound good"....to make it sound good would mean to make it look UGLY...and my wife would have flipped...she flipped when I came home with my amp rack and 9's in the door...
At least it looked good...hehe.
She was pissed! hehe

mayb a good analogy is clothes, they never have enuff, even though our walkin closet has 7/8 space taken up by her clothes, and shoes, all my clothes are on hangers, scruched together, taken up allof 3ft,by 4ft-maybe thatll help her understand; we are always searching for more amps, better amps, good deals, that be a good analogy, plus amps hold their value, clothes do not

Heheh...no that wont work for me....my toys...I have LOTS of. And her clothes...she's not a snob...she's not into having tons of clothes and shoes etc. She goes shopping like maybe once or twice a year....if that for clothes...she's not a shopaholic. So unfortunately that doesn't work for me hehe.
Thanks for the help!

hehe
