Finally got some time to mock up a box for my 2 Ti12ds and Cyclone. I have a lot of amps to fit in the car so I tried to save as much space as possible but no luck. I needed a minimum of 9 cubes and it turned out to be the whole rear cabin. I have to fit 2 Ti1200.1, 3 Ti600.2, 2 Ti400.2 and 1 Ti500.4 in the car and I wanted them to all fit in the hatch area, but its not looking good. I might have to pop a couple Ti600.2 in the front doors because I want to keep the back seats..... we'll see.....
So I built it in 2 pieces so I could make changes as needed and to make it easier to move around for finishing. I have to say though, with birch this thing only weighs 37 lbs unloaded. Gotta love hardwoods.

I hope ya have a place to park this inside and away from little bitchass theives. And you also realize that yer gonna break the back window pretty quik with those monsters.

In theory, I'm not a fan of mixing subs. It causes cancellations due to the different phase responses of the speakers. The Elites and the Cyclone are both geared for low frequencies as well, so they would be performing in very similar frequency ranges. Conceptually I think it would be better to use a midbass response sub so that they can play separate ranges and avoid clashing. However, I know Wakeup runs a cyclone with his Fi Q (I think) and really likes it.
Also, do you have all three subs in the same airspace? The Cyclone would be better off on its own. After looking at your pics again, it does appear that the cyclone has its own airspace, and you only use the connection to run ports from the Elites to the back. Correct me if I am wrong. Again, in theory I also prefer to have ports on the same plane as the woofers to avoid cancellations.
I am very excited to see how this will work in practice. The car audio textbook would probably shake its head, but I have a feeling it will work really well.

I've heard Steve's system and it fukin rocks!!!!!!!! There's no gap in freq anywhere I can hear. Not to mention he's got 9's in the doors......

Its always been a battle with me to get linear response from my sub section while making it a loud as possible. I normally build a box with the most port area possible, and I can do amazing things with a single sub, however the trade off is a narrow frequency response band between 30and 36hz which is where I like it but the higher freqs get lost. So with the Cyclone I can let the 12s play higher and let the Cyclone hit my sweet spot. you will not even hear the control or Sq of the cyclone with 2 other woofers next to it. Added to the fact that the other woofers are closer to your ears.
In my car, as with many hatch backs, subs up ports back is the key to success. It has a lot to do with the lenght of my roof line and where the wave matures in my car. Ports on the same plane is the "safe" way to ensure phasing. In a trunk I wouldn't do it this way.As for Ikea making boxes, LMFAO! It does look like a Ikea box. I use birch because its lighter and has more rigidity the MDF. Ever tried to put a whole sheet of MDF on a table saw? Also I have a lot of speed heads out here that don't want a lot of weight in the car, I've done plenty boxes with no flex out of 1/2 inch Birch that weigh less then 7lbs (mine is 3/4 of course). I prefer mahogany but its hard to find. Hardwood also doesn't swell up if it gets wet!

Glass hasn't broke yet If yer windows haven't popped out yet then yer loosing tons of SPL....... There is a reason that ya see 1" thick lexan windsheilds and side windows that are bolted on.

Back in tha day, my buddy had 4 JL15w6's running off 2 RF800a2's in a suburban and the side window in the back was blown out of the seal and broke. I saw a CRX's hatch window shattered with 6 earthquake 12's......but he was probly in the 150-160 range too.
