Might as well do a thread on my Ti Blazer build. Its slow going. Updates will be infrequent I expect but I will try to keep it exciting.
Lets see, Its a 1996 GMC Jimmy that I'm converting to a Blazer. Its getting all ti equipment save the Cyclone. I'm not sure if I'm gonna go with the P9 combo or the Ural CDD. Here the equipment I have available for install
*edit* Cyclone out 3rd Ti12 Elite in.
Pioneer Premier DEX-P9
DEQ-P9
Ural ConcRetUral ConceRt

Ti9
Ti12D Elite x3
Ti400.2 x2

You really should go with the P9-Combo! I don´t know a lot of other headunits that will give u that much of benefits! I never saw a mixed up woofer setup. What is it good for?

I wanted to tune Musically with out losing my low frequency response. I want no gaps in my sound stage. The Cyclone allows me to tune my subs higher with out sacrificing my LFR.
Ti Tweets 20khz-3khz
Ti mids 3khz-150khz
Ti9s 1.5khz-80hz
Ti12ds 80hz-35hz
Cyclone 40hz-15hz

I forgot that I'm gonna put in some PG 8s in as well to go 120hz-50hz. Any body have a Idea which 8 was more musical between the tantrum 8 and Xmax 8?

Sweet install plan.
Ya might want to think about that HO alt aswell as a pair of deep-cells(kinetik) to go with cus those 1200's are gonna pull some power and the others aint no slouch either. Maybe dual alt's.....

Wow, this setup is nuts in so many ways.
That is an amazing amount of amps to run your front stage! And an amazing array of speakers running your bass!
I find it peculiar that you are running your 1200.1's and Elites only to save the Clone from playing up to 50Hz, which it is capable of doing. I suppose the same applies for the 9M's, which could run to 50Hz as well, but you have 8" subs in that frequency range instead. You are going to have a hell of a time with your crossovers and phase alignment.
Very curious to see how this turns out.

I used XS 8' years ago that did a great job as mid bass. Out of the Tantrum and X-max'es tho I would say the Tantrums would do better as a midbass.

At the end of the day, I hope to have a linear sound that stays linear at high volume. the Low end 250hz-15hz is such a small percentage of the sound spectrum, but to me it makes to most impact. *no pun intended* Even a low volume I want the mid bass to have presence. Those Focal test discs set the bar at a ridiculous height, and I'm using Alma Gates motto to reach it. Raw Power & Ignorance.

I was building the Blazer to be a SPL car so its got power, and I'm an running a Ohio gen 290 amp and 2 Kinetik 2400s with 2 runs of aught (0) apiece power and ground.

Very tru, I hope that by limiting the role (range) each speaker plays, I will get a better, cleaner, performance out of the stereo as a whole. True the Ti9m will play 50hz but at what power level before it reaches Xmax? by cutting it up to 80hz and injecting another 8 that has a more robust build I think I will be able to play the system at higher volumes then without. For staging, the 9s will be in front of me while the 8s will be behind me. That should image with the subs I hope.

so you have a cyclone, ti elite 12's and 8's all in the back and ti9's up front.
thats badass visually...but i cant think the 8's are going to help anything at all in the back...

From what I'm gathering Brian, it's like....??
An 8" PG XMAX w/300 wrms vs a PG ti9 w/300 wrms.
Which do you think will have more output?
I personally haven't seen a ti9 so I couldn't comment on if it's stout or not.

You're still on them aren't you? "...been the tylenol 3's..." vs the "...been the 3 tylenols..." We've all done it.

I know that the human ear can locate the origin of a soundwave if it is above of 70Hz. The 8´s you got all the way in the back will destroy the staging in the car by pulling it back into the trunk. Whats the purpose of having speakers others than woofers in the trunk anyways? It´s like visiting a concert standing in the middle of the crowd with your back facing the stage. Kind of useless in my mind.

Well the 8s will be in the Rear speaker location not the hatch area, But when I'm in the car with a gangsta lean they will be parallel with my ears. I'm sure the 9's will play nice but since I can completely seal them, I'm giving them some back up below 70hz.

Just plugged the box in to give it a quick tuning listen. Better then I hoped. No tuning needed. That Cyclone complements perfectly. Loud.

What about a video of the clone?

Bleh, go on realm of excursion if you want to watch a speaker move and imagine how loud it its. I'll post RTA and Termlab results when I really start tuning though.

actually this time your wrong they are in fact tylenol 3's they are available by prescription and consist of 500mg tylenol 15mg caffiene and 30mg of codeine. and when you take 4 of them it really does something to you
