How do you run all that stuff through the walls anyways, without tearing everything up? Or do you?

4 foot long bendy drill bits, and fishing cables that screw together. a few holes need to be cut, but generally the cable is run in the crawl space and above the ceiling.

And plenty of planning.

If you're wise you do it while they're "framing". Then again, I had that luxury as we had our house built. Also a good idea to install cat6 (or at least cat5) throughout. And not that series type stuff but every connection is a "home" run for full bandwidth.
How are the PG inwalls? They weren't well known when I did my house. I used Paradigm reference series (these were expensive) and outside above my deck I used some polks (they were cheap). The SQ out of inwalls isn't so hot but it has a very high WAF. I refused on my home theatre but ok'd it for whole home audio.
Even when a house is just sheeted it's still a pain to run all those wire and switch boxes. I can't imagine doing it in a home that is sheetrocked. Maybe one room at a time?

Neverman....?! I am glad you had the opportunity to pre-wire your home. Ultimately the best time to pre-wire. I've owned DC Connections 7 years now-exciting industry to be in. We provide services and products for new construction and existing residential homes. This house was built over 10 years ago. Therefore, this would be a remodel project.
I want to provide additional information for your reference and assist in your concerns you have here.
FUTURE PROOFING Which we did for this home!
For background music locations: minimum 16/4, 2 16/2 and 2 cat5e maybe even 3 cat5e for future intercom systems and or touch pads etc.
For home theater and or tv to electronics: minimum 1 HDMI, 1 RGB mini (5 conductor 75 ohm), again 2-3 runs of cat5e
You are correct the in-wall/ceiling speakers are not the same creatures. However, placed properly and correct audio calibration-it's amazing. On top that I also installed Dynamat Acoustic chamber back boxes for the ceiling speakers. This will not only keep sound from bleeding into the upper level, but assist in tonal balance and efficiency.
PG-speakers: For price, value and performance PG IS one of the best out in the market-hands down! PG spent more time on the crossover than the packaging. Cannot speak for other manufactures.
Please let me know if you have additional concerns. Thank You for your time.

Not sure about that in particular, but you definitely need to get the Planet Earth blu-ray set. It's bloody amazing.
