So I was looking for a plate amp with some more power...
Found one; 500w. r.m.s at 4 ohm, 340w. r.m.s at 8 ohm.
Since the driver I used is a peerless xxls 12 830845 [8ohm], I'm happy with that r.m.s output at 8 ohms.
It's a class D plate amp, with phase control, 18DB/oct. variable crossover, and flat/ boost switch.
That last feature is actually the only shortcoming on this amp, but ofcourse PG provided us with the BASSCUBE!! I'll be hooking one up this week.
the amp is already connected, and is a bit of a heavyweight amongst all plate-aps, weighing a good 6KG.. costs 200 euro [app. $260].
Compared with my other [nice] plate amp, it's just giving much more control on very low notes and attacks at higher volumes.
so the audiophile sub is getting better all the time!
just wanted to share the fun.

OH SNAP! Look at that transformer! :o

Nice, I'm still trying to find the perfect amp or amps for my sub system.

For comparison; my other plate amp; detonation DT150
the difference in transformer-size don't say everything, but still...
this is a digital D-CLASS plate amp. [no heat generated because of the efficiency of more than 90%.]
150w. r.m.s at 4 ohm, 100w. r.m.s at 8 ohm.
This one has high- and low inputs, 180 degrees phase shift, selectable bass-boost by dip-switches, selectable protection for 4-8 ohm, auto-on/off, and selectable cut-off freq. from 18-23 hz.
Very good for a 10 inch sub, or a ported 12 inch.
Made in Germany.
My new sub is just a bit too big for this one [though I'll probably never use the max. of my new amp..]
The neighboors are still friends!![for now].
