need cheap but nice headphones for xmas

this will be for my father in law he is still using a old discman,, i know but i was thinking something like these..think over the ear style not earbuds
Grado SR60
they are about 60-75
let me know what you have used and can help me get if they are nly sold in the usa
if you have a new set of nice headphones let me know if you want to get rid of it

The good old Sennheiser HD280 Pro's also fall near that budget range.

I usually buy from headphone.com or headphonesolutions.com, or ebay, or craigslist.

i use the Sennheiser HD25II's which are off the hook but i think they might be too high. the grado's should sound real nice, also as cliche as it might seem the new dre headphones sound pretty damn good

The sony mdrv6s or v7s are much better cans than the hd280s. Having owned both, it wasnt close. The sonys are very flat, and have great bass response aswell. They are also very comfortable.

the mdr v700 dj is everything but flat !! high end dj headphone for sure, but not flat. i have 5 of thoses.

I didnt say anything about the v700. Im speaking about the sony mdrv6, and the mdrv7506. These arent dj headphones fyi. They are Studio monitors, and are very flat, unlike the dj models you speak of. the v6s, and the 7506s are the same. owned both

my dad bought me some Koss headphone's from walmart i think they where like 20 bucks they actually sound really good even if the did come from wallyworld. :D

go on craigslist canada and get the dr. dre monster beats......kinda pricey but not as expensive as in best buy or wherever! well....well worth it! trust!

Porta Pros sound great for cheap but they are sooooooooooooooooo ugly...
